Big. Strong. It was like watching Skip’s gorilla ball days.

Like Saban always said, “good big players beat good little players.”

Was thinking the same thing last night. Especially watching Duke. Some big guys in their lineup and who could just crush the ball.

Never knew the size of Baseball players was a concern?

It should be a concern. Other teams are building teams with guys in their lineup who are typical 3, 4, and 5 hitters. Good size and power. Meanwhile, we put little runts in there to try and play small ball, in which we don't know how to play small ball and struggle to score runs.

This philosophy is definitely working for Duke and TennTech. They kill it every year. Meanwhile, we were only in the championship series of the CWS last year. Time to model our program after Duke and TennTech.

This year’s team would get sand kicked in its face by almost every team in the post season. Small. Add in the lack of talent and this team reminds me of Joe Dean describing a player when he was announcing SEC basketball games before we inexplicably hired him as our AD. (to John Ferguson). “Ah John, he’s short, but he’s slow”

yeah LSU should model their program after DUKE. LSU played for a title last season but man Duke knows how to recruit.

Depends on the position. As far as hitting goes, it’s not really a concern.

Everyone wants big, strong athletes but I agree. Not as big a concern in baseball. Went to the Minute Maid classic last year and before we played TCU and the players were lined up for the anthem I remember thinking how much bigger they looked than we did, aside from Greg. They kicked our arse but we ended up having the better season. I will say that this year's team looks like kids out there though. Probably because they were

Never said LSU should model themselves after Duke dumbass..But they need to recruit some players the size of some of the players on the Duke team. Especially the middle of the lineup.

As far the reigining MLB MVP, we are talking college baseball here numbnuts. Not major league baseball. Different type of game.

Not really fair. Altuve is built like a brick shite house and clearly spends a lot of time in the weight room. That's what's so laughable about this Madrigal kid and people explaining away his tiny stature by pointing to Altuve and Pedroia. Altuve is a fricking horse and so is Pedroia.

Frankly, anyone who says it wasn't an issue this year is burying their head in the sand. However, it's one year, and a year where we lost a ton of talent to the draft, then injury. We do need a more balanced lineup with some pop, though.

I do enjoy how you have one side claiming everything LSU is doing is wrong, while the other side does all they do to discredit any other way of doing it. There can be no grey area in American society in 2018.

Would you rather waster a scholarship on a guy like Bryce Adams who has insane power but provides no defense and strikes out a ton or a little guy like Kramer Robertson who can do a lot more? Hard decision.

Alot of our lack of size had to do with the sheer youth on our team. Another year of food and training and they'll look more like young men instead of kids next year

When averaging size and weight, LSU's position players are less than an inch shorter and about 11 lbs. lighter than the players of Tennessee Tech.

The Tigers had three everyday starters under 170 lbs., including one of the best power hitters on the team, Zach Watson.

This team suffered offensively having to play Hal Hughes because of injury to Smith, and, while Broussard isn't a power threat, his injury set him back a great deal.

If anything, the Tiger players need to hit the gym, their height isn't a big factor when compared to one of the other teams you listed.

Do feel free to do a comparison against Oregon State, one of the favorites for the title and the team that just outclassed LSU. I'm sure it's about the same.

Once again, alot of that size difference is due to the youth of our team. Very few of our guys have actually settled into their "man weight."
