Yeah, so, Alabama is good... but sheesh... to not be able to run AT ALL was ridiculous.

I assumed he was going to move on when he was very publicly demoted and they tried to make that seem like it was a good thing for his career. "He's more comfortable as an offensive line coach" is the equivalent of he was an unmitigated disaster as coordinator and had to be removed for a qualified candidate. That was the writing on the wall, unless you believe that LSU was going to pay him OC money to coach mediocre lines. Never was going to happen. I'm glad Maryland likes taking our old coaches so much. #wizard #canadianwizard #unemployedwizard

Without going into details, I have it from a pretty reliable source that the last straw was Stud's disloyalty to the program.

Ooh, give us a hint.

LSU was the 3rd leading rushing team in the SEC and only 50 yds less than Bama for the season.

Lots of things went wrong from us in the Bama game. No doubt the OL had their problems in the 2nd half, but so did the D which watched Yeldon run for 110 yds and 2 TDs in the last 20 or so mins.

LSU screwing up the chance to take a 14-0 lead into the 2nd quarter didn't help either.

i think coach cam brought studs overall body of work to miles attention in a way les understood; the OL coach is hurting the program and has to be removed for the program to ascend
No doubt Cam had a lot to do with getting Stud removed- certainly it was long overdue for the good of the OL!

bullshite! Stud earned all 11 years of his salary with that one picture with Andy Dodd and Mr. Dodd. The one where one poster said, "Paint him green, and Stud looks just like Shrek!"

Stud is a good o-line coach, but the parrots like to pile on. In the spring and fall, Cam was running the show with Miles almost exclusively with Stud coaching up the linemen. So if the line play was bad (it wasn't that bad), it was just Stud's fault and let's fire him?

How about years of underachieving offensive lineman, being demoted in recruiting and being demoted as offensive coordinator? The guy should be put in prison for thievery on LSU. I'm pretty sure after seeing Arkansas put Mett's career at risk and hobble off the field Miles finally realized his best bud was useless here. That with watching his young QB Jennings run for his life against Iowa probably did it in. Stud was about 6 years overdue from being fired by Miles. Ask any player coached under him and I'll bet none said he's a good coach. I have no love for this guy and I'm glad he's gone. Never been a fan after what one player told me about him. IDGAF if anyone believes what I have to say but his results speak for themselves. He's a prime example of coaches being best buddies and being stubborn/selfish to keep them around. Just saying.
You hit all the nails on the head here. StudCurley is almost like a cartoon character and I'm sure he scared off a lot of recruits, in addition to not being a very good technical Offensive Line coach.

Once again, Miles waits too long to pull the plug.

It's more of a mystery to me why Raymond is still here. (Recruiting ability I would imagine) Go check out the stats for how many passing yards the LSU Secondary has given up the last two seasons. They're Deplorable. I'll continue to refer to CR and the DB's as "Burnt Toast and the Chinese Fire Drill" until we see a noticible difference on the field. It was like a night and day difference in DB performance immediately after Ron Cooper left.

LSU was 4th in SEC in pass defense and only 2 ypg from third. Considering what we have lost in the secondary after each of the last two seasons I think they have fared well. Should be much improved this year as these young guys grow up.

I believe what you posted had everything to do with it .....

After he was demoted he probably felt slighted and became a problem..... I also think grimes is an upgrade....

You do realize that Raymond has played true freshman in the secondary. And Collins and Mills which were coppers guys haven't pan out. Until Raymond moved mills to safety. Cut the guy some slack Raymond is a good recruiter and now he got his guys he want playing with Mr. White and Mr. RR. Now we have Adams coming in a long with Paris. I think you will start seeing a difference. We were spoiled all these years with great backfield, but we also had and amazing front line and linebacker play. Our middle linebacker was extremely weak this last year. And our DLine didn't get after it like we've seen in the past. This in turned exposed out DB this year. Now if you don't see an improvement after next year and give the guy and extra year after that, then Raymond needs to hit the road Jack. But after two years with only freshman playing mainly. You gout to cut the guy some slack.

I have it on good word, that THE LAST STRAW, was when Stud stole all of Bricks Twinkies.

Really, Cam came in and said, "Les you like to pound the rock, and you have had the best stable of running backs in recent memory. You have a qb and WR's that are taking the pressure off the run game, but we still can't block Pee Wee Herman."

Look for the Chief to come in and say, "Les, it's time for Brick to go....because he hasn't developed shite, with all the talent that has come in". We can find someone to recruit his territory, no problem. Not a reason to keep him.

Plus he is starting to steal the Chief's Twinkies.
