Was Jontre better than Nuss?

A lot of people have been talking about the fact that Nuss sat out of the bowl game and missed the opportunity to get valuable first team reps. Based on Nuss’ performance so far this year, is there a possibility that Jontre was actually a better QB than Nuss? Nuss mentioned how bad he wanted to play and that there were “other factors at play” that influenced his availability- I’m starting to think that Jontre actually performed better and the coaches felt more confident in his ability to get us the win.

You should do yourself a favor and stop trying to think.

It would be interesting to see Jontre at QB for a year with a package built around his strengths.

I mean Jontre is only the third LSU QB to throw 3 TDs in a postseason game… doesn’t seem too far fetched to me

As a wide receiver, you betcha!

As a QB, no way. Even suggesting that is preposterous. Nuss has a tremendous undelved upside potential. The scorn on this board of LSU's most naturally gifted QB is getting rather tiresome.

Honestly, they sold out on the run, and knew we wouldn’t be very competitive with that. That occasionally would leave a man down field open, and we had decent receivers.

It sounds crazy...but if he was taking snaps at QB the whole time in practice it's certainly possible.

Not sure about Jontre being an all around better QB than Nuss but he sure is a better passer than JD.

Nuss would have lost his RS if he had played in the bowl
