Better defense and we would have won by 7.

He looked like a true freshman playing in his first start in a bowl games with bad weather.

He wasn't "bad" in the sense that it was a reflection of his future or that he should have been more ready.

But, he was "bad" in the sense that if we go into the season next year with a QB at that level, we are in trouble. The QB position has to play better than it did today.

Jennings isn't the natural we hoped he'd be. That's a nice way of putting it, right?

no. in fact, he had some very good plays. he just blew enough plays to upset the rythem of the offense. he overthrew some passes with the wr's were wide open and one got pick sixed. the kid just needs more reps and learn to settle down. i think the coaches game plan worked to perfection today as the team stepped up and took a lot of pressure off of their freshman qb. at one point cam called up some real aggresive plays and they just didn't work out. it was game #1. i can only imagine how nervous i'd be. hell, he almost took a knee on fourth down. one day he'll laugh about that. i actually saw a hell of a lot i liked about him back there. those comparing him to JJ don't know shite about playing football.

He was really that bad. Jeremy Hill saved the day. I hope Les has a open competition because he was awful.

He's not the "plug and play" that some thought. Lot of work to do. The bright spot is he's young, and nothing he does wrong can't be improved.

He was bad..

Hopefully first start gitters. Just remember JR redshirted his first year and wasn't worth a dang until his Soph year which was three years later

Let me correct the stats I posted. He was 7 for 19. Beckham threw one incomplete pass that is included in the team's passing stats.

Jennings had a QB rating of 19.7.

Had a forgettable game, no doubt.

Rohan Davey threw three or four picks in his first start, and we got skull fricked by Auburn that day. Things turned out ok for him.

Totally agree. If Cam leaves, I fear the 2010 offense will return.
