Was Darry Beckwith one of the best LSU LB's of all-time?

He was good but certainly not one of the best.

Michael Brooks, Albert Richartson were beasts. I'd throw Ron Sancho and Shawn Burkes in as others that were pretty solid

Eric Alexander, Lionel Turner and Cameron Vaughan were way better.

His last two seasons were just a bit better than Thomas Dunson and Welters season this year. He was good in his first years and was very poor in his last two.

Allen Stansberry, Mike Calais, Perry Riley, were all better. Kenny Mixon & Joe Wesley probably were as well.
After making a tackle at MSU one year, he injured himself trying to do some silly arse celebration dance.

He was very impressive as a sophomore, but he kept having nagging injuries the prevented him from reaching his full potential.
It was in the 2006 game against Arizona that he played as well as any linebacker that I've seen.

Thanks for pointing that out, most posters can't remember past a week ago.

Eric Hill, Bradie James and Michael Brooks. Beckwith nowhere close to those 3.

Very good his soph year at olb under Pelini.
Once mallytoe got hol of eem and moved him to MLB, he went downhill fast. He couldn't take the beating of MLB.

I heard some chatter that he was a bit divisive element in the locker room his senior season. Not sure that's true.
