So, the A&M negotiations were just a rumor? Amazing how the O sycophants just recreate history to suit their agenda.

I can't believe how dumb this board has become. WTF happened? There are some seriously retarded posters in this thread. Why would you not support the head coach? People keep bringing up things that just aren't relevant anymore and they think they've actually made a point. If you're still bringing up coach O's resume now how would you think that this is even remotely relevant?

What is funny are people like yourself, VermilionTiger, who lose their shite over rumors that are purely speculation. The best part about college football is anything can happen during the course of a season. See '07 for example. For some reason people like you can't seem to distinguish between support of the program, the whole program which includes the coaches and players, and support of your own argument for the want to be right and scream to the masses that you were right. I don't have to agree with the hire that was made, but I'm damn sure going to support whatever coach is coaching our Tigers in his first years as the coach. No program who changes coaches ever goes through it without some growing pains. Was the loss to Troy expected? Hell no, but shite happens.

You have to give a new coach 2-3 years to get his system and players in place otherwise you'll be looking for a coach every year and any decent coach worth a damn won't give you the first look out of fear that if they don't win the NC in their first year they'll be out on their arse also. I mean look at UGA. Had they fired Smart like some of their fans had wanted (I know plenty of UGA fans who hated the hire and wanted him gone after last year) they wouldn't be playing for the NC on Monday. Gotta give O some time and see how it plays out. If we have a terrible year next year, and I mean 6-6 or worse, his seat will be on fire. If he gets to year 3 and doesn't win at least 10-11 games (I don't want to hear any shite about accepting mediocrity and 10 wins a year, it's fricking hard to go undefeated in this league and if you can't see that you're blind) then cut him loose.

Tl;Dr: Quit shitting on true fans who might not have supported the hire but are willing to let the next year play out before passing judgment.

Not now. Les, who won championships, was out for doing no worse than O this year in a historically down SEC.

He doesn’t win 10 next year, and Aranda can easily be named the new HC. No having to lure in an outside coach.

I don’t even know if this is wrong. I assume you meant to say assistants, but technically they are providing assistance. This was a real mindfrick for me.

I don't see how Miles tenure is comparable in this situation. When Les got fired he had been at LSU for 10+ years so it is completely different. He had run his course at LSU and it was time for some new blood.

The other thing is, I don't get everybody calling for Aranda to be HC if O gets canned. Don't get me wrong, he is a phenomenal coordinator. But he doesn't really fit the HC mold to me. Honestly he kind of reminds me of Chavis. Great coordinator, doesn't like to be in the media spotlight, doesn't really go bust it on the recruiting trail. I would like to see him go to a smaller school to start out as a HC before he comes into something as big as LSU.

They scream about O's resume but in the same breath they want Aranda who has never been a head coach before to replace O. How does that even make sense in their heads. They take mental retardation to a whole new level.

Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley say hello.

Both in the playoffs. One in his first year, the other in his second. Neither with prior HC experience.

And comparing Aranda to them is far more valid than comparing O to Saban, which I’ve seen many here do.

LSU is going to let Aranda go because they can’t pay a DC more than their HC, even though Aranda is far more qualified to run a program than Orgeron.

Dave Aranda has a completely different personality than either of those two coaches. I get that people see that and automatically want to make the hopeful assumption that Aranda will be one in the same with those guys. I just don't see it. Kirby Smart has always been a damn strong recruiter; Aranda doesn't really do the recruiting trail thing that much. Lincoln Riley had a future Heisman winner for two years before he became head coach. It also helped that the conference he plays in isn't the strongest in the country.

I'm not saying that Aranda wouldn't be a great HC one day. I just don't think he would do well with his first job as a HC being at LSU.

And one last thing. I don't know why you added in the last part about Saban and O but I'm not stupid enough to ever compare the two. I realize there are some people on this board who are. However, I am not one of them nor will I ever be.
