This is the statute:
They have to show that he knowingly aided the offender, while knowing that he committed a crime, with the intent to help the offender avoid capture.
Like I said - unless they have texts to prove it, I find it highly unlikely this goes anywhere.

RS 14:25
An accessory after the fact is any person who, after the commission of a felony, shall harbor, conceal, or aid the offender, knowing or having reasonable ground to believe that he has committed the felony, and with the intent that he may avoid or escape from arrest, trial, conviction, or punishment.
They have to show that he knowingly aided the offender, while knowing that he committed a crime, with the intent to help the offender avoid capture.

This article was published in the end of May and the arrests occurred August 4. This will be messy.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KLFY) — Authorities are looking for two suspects in a murder in Alexandria who may be in the Lafayette area.
Shemell Jacobs, 17, and Keldrick Jordan, 18, are wanted on charges of armed robbery and second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Corey Brooks.
They are suspected of being in the Lafayette area, according to Alexandria Police. Both should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact the Alexandria Police Department immediately at (318) 441-6416 or APD Dispatch (318) 441-6559. You may also email information to detectives at: APDDetectives@cityofalex.com

I think Kelly does a good job and I generally support his decisions.
Not taking a portal RB is going to bite this team right on the arse.

How about “no i have a sweet gig here”. “Go fuq someone else’s life up”

quote:Oh I'm sure he knew them. It's also very likely he knew why they needed to stay there.
The two guys were from Alexandria and teenagers. It would be an absolute stretch to say that he didn’t know who they were and had little to no communication as to why they needed to stay at his apartment.
Now, whether or not the DA has the proof to show that he knowingly and intentionally helped them avoid arrest after knowing about a murder they committed, that's a very different story.

So he was close enough with these guys to let them stay in his dorm room, but not close enough to them to know they were wanted for murder?

They've been on the run for over 2 months. A reasonable jury might start asking a lot of questions, especially since one of the suspects is 17.

This 100%.
We took some great receivers, but probably at least 1 more than we needed. Given the Holly situation alone, not even factoring in that Durham had a minor injury and JJ was practicing as a QB, we should've absolutely taken 1 less WR and replaced the spot with a RB for depth.

MAn if we have any sort injury in this RB room we are real real thin there

quote:Again - without knowing exactly when they stayed at his dorm, it's hard for us to give input. The fact that he said he was at camp looks bad for Lindsey. Whether that's LSU camp or some other "football camp" remains to be seen.

What's really fricked is that his friends, who he allegedly shielded from being arrested for murder, would rat him out like this. Not like they're going to get more jail time by saying they slept in their cars for the last 2 months. Way to drag down one of the seemingly only productive members of your circle.

Yeah and that's probably the most physically grueling position on the field... you make constant lateral cuts, get tackled by DL and LBers 15-20 times per game, and have to pick up blitzers coming full speed in pass protection.

Pretty sure US Marshalls showed up and picked up the guys, investigators decided they needed to look into where the guys were staying, probably got told they were staying for an extended amount of time, and a judge signed a warrant thinking there's no way JT didn't know these guys did something bad.

Is this a fricking joke? What are we doing? We trying to sabotage ourselves here???
