whew had me sweating for a sec. If helmet comes off during a play then they sit the next one or till eval for concussion is done?

i think there is a yardage penalty if a defensive player loses his helmet and then continues to make a tackle/play. i could be mistaken and am too lazy to look it up and confirm.

Going up against Copeland is not fair to anyone on the team.

LOL at Miles thinking the player took his helmet off on purpose. "Your helmet comes off you're out of the game!". LOL the helmet came off with contact, not on purpose. Dude is in his own little world
Or maybe he's aware of the new rule and you have no idea what you're talking about?

not really
So pitting an o-linemen and a d linemen against each other and seeing who can beat each other isn't the best way yo practice doing the same thing on the field? Sure there's no rip.moves, swim moves, or spin moves and the offensive linemen aren't running zone blocks...but still, this is teaching the o line to root out a DT out of his place...what other way is better?

Except maybe Williford.

Isn't the point of the drill to push the other man back to win? Why does Jordan Allen always let go and try to rip by?

LOL at mett putting on his helmet

Derek Edinburgh and Lavar Edwards pushed. This also provided a moment of levity when Les Miles called “Edinburgh,” Zach Mettenberger joking put on his helmet and said, “Mettenberger?” Imagine the headline, “LSU loses QB for 3 weeks due to injury in Big Cat Drill.”

I like Shepard's attitude in the Drill. I hope he really makes the best of this season.

quote:Football is a game of blocking and tackling. If you think this drill does not teach players what to do and what not to do when they mae contact with an opponent, then maybe you should watch more futbol, and leave the football to those who appreciate the nuts and bolts of the game.
Waste of practice time. Maybe use this time adding a bit of sophistication to the offense instead?
