This is my definitive opinion on this issue:
The people who are upset with this seem to be missing the connection between the things they love about Tiger Stadium and the things they apparently abhor. Death Valley has always been known as a powder keg of a venue full of drunk and raucous cajuns. This is well known and lauded and applauded across the fan base with almost unanimous pride. Every time a ranking of best stadiums in college football is released, with Tiger stadium on top, we beam with pride as we read about the intimidation factor and the fear it instills in both the opposing team as well their fan base. What people fail to understand is that that reputation, and those accolades, have all the bad stuff built into them. They include STTDB. They include drunkenly hurling cups from the top row on big TDs. They include leaving Idaho early but leaving A&M and Alabama with permanently damaged vocal chords. They include students drinking all day and then coming to the game and letting it all hang out. Its where mon-fri accountants and stay at home moms can pick up torches and pitchforks and scream their foes into submission. For better or worse, that is Tiger Stadium. Yeah the words to our chants and jeers have changed through the years, but the sentiment is the same. We're here, we're loud, we're angry, and when your dreams die, as they usually do when they come to Tiger Stadium, we will boo their funeral. It's not about class, and it never has been. This isn't Alex Box, it's Death Valley. And if you dont like it, you can....you know the rest.

When did it turn to saying STTDB as often as possible as opposed to that one singular spot in the song?

Actually, that's everything I dislike about Tiger Stadium.
ETA: I would be quite happy to see the NCAA start fining schools over profanity and dangerous activity in the student sections. I'd also be happy if the NCAA would force schools to disband student sections for a game or two after the first offense.

You dislike that we are consistently voted the best/most intimidating place to play?

Who cares what the students chant? Is it because it is offensive to people who bring their kids? I bring my daughter and I could care less.

It's really mind boggling to me that the students can't not say that. Especially knowing damn well they are going to have the song removed again as a result. It's trashy, juvenile, and above all, completely irrational.
It's one thing to say occasional profanities in a cheer, but to incessantly chant something utterly lewd and trashy is something else. Put me on the side of the administrators for banning it.
If they want to act like children they should be treated as such.

OK they need to cut it out and stop the song again. I was no saint growing up but that is sad. Time to move on and quit the song.

Why the frick did they bring Neck back and not Tiger Rag, which is ten times more tame in the vulgar department
