Leaving tomorrow for Seattle and have Thursday open. I was told I should visit Victoria Island. Anyone been there? What should I expect or should I not waste my time.

Lots of liberals. The people up there are definitely different. Do the whole Pike's Place Market and hit one of the 10 million coffee shops.

Victoria is well worth the trip. It is a beautiful little city with a great harbor with lot's of pubs and restaurants. If you want to get high falootin', then go stay at the Empress Hotel right on the water. The capitol buildings are all lit up at night, too. Buchart Gardens is impressive (never thought I'd be impressed by somebody's garden), as well.

Other nice harbor towns to go to for the day: Port Townsend, Paulsbo, or Friday Harbor. You can take a whale watching trip from Port Townsent to Friday Harbor, I believe.

One thing that is unique is Butchart Gardens, one of the more spectacular gardens I have seen. If you are traveling with your wife or SO, she will love it.

If you're borderline gay, you'll love Victoria.

Lots of flowers, tea and shopping.

No such thing as Victoria Island. Victoria is a city on Vancouver Island.

I think you would be better off driving to Vancouver but thats just me.
