Who gives a fuk!! Neither Saban, Les Miles or ED O won anything of relevance prior to their tenure with LSU.

People also like to forget that he had USC with a good enough record to play in the conference title game (they had the best record in the south divison of the pac 12) but they were ineligible due to the Reggie Bush stuff. He was coaching/recruiting while having to get players who knew they couldnt play for anything past the regular season.
I’m glad someone else is bringing this up. Lane was a coach on either 4 or 5 National Championship winning teams, had USC in the Pac12 title game (if they would’ve been eligible) and Lane has the highest winning % of any coach in FAU history.
Lane’s FAU tenure: 11-3, 5-7, 11-3 w/ 2 CCs, & the 5-7 year they had 3 losses by less than 3 points.
FAU’s records bf Lane: 3-9, 3-9, 3-9, 6-6, 3-9, 1-11

He’s won more conference championships than Saban, Miles and Orgeron combined before they arrived. They all left with a national championships.
