To be honest, I had never before heard of HPU before this tourney, and didn't care about them until they beat Wisconsin. But they're midmajor. Who is to say that Flynn Clayman is a better fit for LSU basketball than Coach McMahon? It could jes' be another helping of weak sauce, warmed over.

it just isn't an exact science - how many of the hot young mid-major coaches that are hired knee-jerk after one exciting tournament run flamed out after getting the bump up to a power conference school.....more than have succeeded I can assure you.

Verge Ausberry doesn't have a clue to what's going in any other LSU Sport outside of Football.
He was a panic, stop gap hire to navigate through the Landry mess and get Kiffin in here.
I seriously don't think he's going to be AD at LSU for that long.
He's being told what to do by Wade Rousse and Lee Mallet every step of the way.

It's all about recruiting and MM and the staff he has put together are very poor recruiters! That fact has been evident since MM has been at LSU. The players he has brought in from high school and transfers are evident of very poor recruiting!
