Guess that's why the games are played on the field.

Yea, Bill Connelly’s SP+ ranking seems to be the driving factor behind their metrics. I’m not going to pretend to know the ins and outs of it, but it uses some metric called Game Control. You seem to get more credit for beating the hell out of a poor opponent than a big time, gutsy win. So, I put 0 stock in it. If it was worth a shite every gambler would use it like a gospel and break Vegas. That hasn’t happened has it.

Vanderbilt is playing very good football. They remind me a lot of Indiana last year. They're sound in all aspects of the game, and beating South Carolina like a drum on the road, deserves notice.

It's too early to make that kind of prediction, however. There's a lot of football to be played between now and October 18.

Chance to win what? Their game against LSU?

Also, to the poster who claimed ESPN had LSU ranked #3 in 2019 after the championship game, do you mean that after we beat Clemson they had our 2019 team, with Joe Burrow et al, ranked #3? That can’t be. Whom did they have in front of them?
