What with the "who's USL"? The frickin school can't figure out what to be called, why should a fan of another school have a tight handle on it? Damn, ULL has more of an identity crisis then AU.

They don't even call themselves ULL. I have yet to see anything that says ULL. Unlike ULM, actually says ULM not UL of M.

Thats what i though the old gulf coast conference was comprised of 1AA teams and among them was USL

Div 1A and 1AA didn't come about until 1978. Before that split there was no such thing. Before then, USL was in the Gulf States Conference. When the split occurred, USL decided that they wanted to be in 1A and left that conference to become an independent.

So they were never 1AA. And to those who wonder why so many UL(L) fans don't like LSU.....it's because of threads like these.

Bet there's not many people that know jack shite about USL/ULL either there big boy. You do realize that outside of this site and Laffy, no one gives a jack shite about ULL, right? In north La people use the this same argument about LSU but plug Tech into the equation. ULM at least knows their place and realize that they should have stayed put and at least dominated AA. USL/ULL is relevant ONLY in Laffy.

Even though alot of us in the state of Louisiana pull for LSU it has grown to be apparent that those that attend LSU don't have the same respect for the rest of the state. This type of arrogance hasn't gone unoticed and there is a growing hatred by the other state schools towards LSU. It is pathetic in this state for any institution to feed this type of resentment beween each other. Doesn't make any school look any better when both or lowered to the same level.

I don't feel that this hatred was born of recent success and arrogance from LSU. It's not a new development, but rather a very old phenomenon that is more apparent with the advent of the interweb where so many people can make their opinions so apparent. I don't dislike any of the other instate schools and pull for all of them when they are not playing LSU. I also keep up with them as much as my free time allows. That being said, the hatred that the other schools have for LSU is truly sad.

I agree with you. And yes, LSU's arrogance does play a part whether or not people on this board want to admit it just as much as it is jealousy from the other schools.

This actually works both ways...I live in Laf and I can tell you ALL the UL-L fans I know REFUSE to give LSU any credit on their accomplishments. When LSU wins, the opponent didn't play well, officiating, lucky, etc. Never do they give LSU any credit and they always pull for the team who plays LSU.

I see people wearing LSU stuff all the time on campus, I wear purple and gold and nobody ever says anything to me. The only time I ever hear how much ULL hates LSU is when I come to this forum. Just sayin.......

This has been my experience with ULL fans as well as Tech fans. I feel that this attitude has warranted a "well, frick em" response from most LSU fans. It's like a woman that bitches all the time, eventually you just ignore her stupid arse.

Here's a clue. Quit worrying about what LSU is doing and take care of your own damn business. ULM does this and I have much greater respect for their program. And guess what? They don't claim to be The University of Louisiana, which many would state that they have more claim of then ULL.

ULM left 1-AA b/c when they won it back in 88 they only made an extra couple of hundred grand. Now as a 1-A doormat they have been able to upgrade the campus, facilities, and many other things. What has ULL done w/ there extra $$$?

I understand this. Just pointing out the crappy argument that ULL brings to the table.
