Another mandatory evacuation here this morning. It's bad. People need lots of prayers. Let's all come together at this terrible time for the SC folks

Yea, but think of how much they lose in terms of the experience? Idk, Im not sure if the tradeoff is worth it. If the game is in BR, the SC fans that come will have a way better time in BR than Jax. Additionally the game will make more $$ for USC. And it will have a higher attendance. I just think BR is the best option all around except for two things:
1. Home field advantage for USC (but they arent very good this year so this isnt very important.
2. It is far from USC fans (but once it isnt at home, or within 2,3,4 hours from columbia, how much more does the # of USC fans available to make it decrease anyway?)

Sorry to inconvenience you.
it's inconsiderate to the columbia community and first responders to even have considered the city hosting a major college football game the week of a natural disaster where 17 people have died and many still missing, the roads screwed up and massive flooding all over the state.

I agree that USC needs to do what's in their best interest but it's Wednesday already. If you haven't worked out a deal with a neutral site by now it's pretty much to late. Maybe they are close to a deal somewhere and are finalizing things which is fine but a formal decision and announcement has to be made today in order for the game to be played. You can't be looking for other options at this point but instead have to be finalizing plans on known options

Lol probably so. A beat writer said it so it must be 100% done deal.

below I-77, which wouldn't affect traffic from I-77 to the stadium. Not trying to argue, just trying to add clarity.
I'm not familiar with the area. Most important thing to take away from the quote is "a bridge collapsed as recent as yesterday".

A 3-4 hour drive from Columbia to Athens, Charlotte, or Jacksonville is a lot different 10-11 hour drive to BR.
We aren't rich people. 3-4 means a day trip. 10-11 hours means hotel, flights, gas, etc.

Agree... Contingency plans should have been made over the weekend.

BR is already making arrangements to host. logistics are in place. LSU will donate a large sum of money to south carolina storm relief.

All the article said was that the stadium could be available. There's more involved in having the game there, including housing the teams, TV logistics, and mobilizing police and emergency workers.

You have no idea what has been happening behind the scenes these past couple of days. For all we know, Williams-Brice has never been considered and these past couple of days have been spent solely on looking at alternative sites.

why do you have to be so definite
no one knows for sure, neither do you
no one knows for sure, neither do you

Better be played in columbia. Flying into charlotte. Called the airline the morning to see if I need to cancel what my options were. AA told me they won't do anything.

lol of course BR was ready to host. That doesn't mean that BR should host it.

For the record not that you care I'm sure but as an LSU fan I think this needs to be as close to Columbia as possible. How many USC fans would travel any more than 3/4 hours?
And you mention you guys not being rich people. Nor are some of the lau fans trying to figure out what to do with hotel/flights. I was not going to USC but my concern would be loss of money on plane tickets.
Prayers for those affected ... It's a terrible thing.

Cocky, don't be silly. USC is being inconsiderate because they want a home game that their fans can easily drive to. Trust LSU, come to BR, it's in your best interest.

I'd rather not eat 400 bucks in flight tickets.

what are your other options at this point? how are you going to get the people assembled in other cities to work a major college football gameday?
it's in south carolina's best interest to have the game in BR.
