The AP poll has not been especially relevant in years.

Except to our fans that want to bash the program.

So - had we beaten UF and the rest played out the same way... we'd be 11-1 and ranked 5th rather than 6th.

It all comes down to Beat Bama at this time.

Had we LOST to Florida but won vs. Bama we're probably ranked 2nd at 11-1.

I agree with other poster -- amazing that Florida is ranked below Oregon - given who has played and beaten the more difficult schedule.

How far does loser of SECCG fall? We could hold our spot or even move up one. I'd like to finish in the top 5....despite the fans who say it's #1 or nothing.

Some of those teams are likely over-ranked. Georgia has one win over a good team. Ditto, South Carolina. At this point Alabama's only impressive win is over us. The top of the SEC this year benefits a lot from the bottom of the SEC being so terrible and padding their records, at least these past couple of years.

I would argue there is more parity at the top this year than in previous years but middle and bottom are no better than any conference out there.

They have Oregon ahead of Florida? Both teams are 11-1. Oregon lost at home to Stanford. Has beaten 1 Top 25 team in #17 Oregon St. Florida lost at a Neutral Site to #3 Georgia. Has beaten #6 LSU, #8 Texas A&M, #10 South Carolina, #12 Florida State,

This shouldn't surprise since we are dealing with a broken corrupt agenda driven polling system when we should just decide it on the field like every other sport

Florida has looked pretty bad this year. They could have easily lost to ULL

Style points do matter whether people want to admit it or not. UF could easily be a 3-4 loss team.

I agree. LSU and Alabama are slightly worse, A&M jumped right into the mix, Florida is much improved, Georgia and SC are better as well. But the bottom 8 teams are very mediocre.

None of the bottom 8 teams beat any of the top 6 teams. Not 1 of them. I can't find a another conference that has that sharp a distinction between the top and the bottom. And those bottom 8 teams didn't exactly make a case in their OOC games, losing to the likes of Rutgers, Syracuse, Northwestern, ULM, etc...

You figure 4 OOC gimme wins and 4 of 5 in conference wins from the bottom of the conference and it's not to hard to get to 10 wins in the daunting SEC.

LSU up to #7 in Harris Poll...probably won't be going up above #7 in the BCS though...possibility Stanford could leap us next week.

That looks about right considering I don't think we could beat the 5 teams in front of us.
