re: Urban on Tiger Stadium...

I hate Urban....I mean seriously, did his mom WANT him to be picked on as a child?? BAHAHA

it gets quiet because we're too busy discussing which coaches should be fired, and which players should be kicked off the team immediately after the game...which is important stuff

Fla '97 was unbelievable, I had a migraine headache from screaming and the noise by the end. People were loud and standing the whole game, correct you are.

Also Tenn OT game in Saban Year One, his 5th game. Fla '07,etc..still plenty of games in the past 12 years are amongst Tiger Sadium's loudest crescendos and sustained noise games.

It was on national television! And why are Florida fans all calling BS, that scum bag they call a coach would so do something like that.

the fact that he even said this tells alot about how hard a time he has when we are up in a game. our fans get back in it pretty damn quick too.

This past Saturday at noon on CBS. It was their college preview for this year.

A couple of thoughts on this thread, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading...

1) The stadium isn't as consistently loud as it used to be, especially last year. I think there are several reasons for this.

a) The students are a bunch of prima-donna pussies. Let's face it. Today's students are too used to winning. I recall the Georgia game this past year that place was silent for the entire game....the entire game....because of what happened on our first possession. It was pathetic.

b) Day games. CBS kinda ruined the vibe last year. I am glad that they are picking up many of our games this year. I hate CBS. I know LSU probably love$ CBS, but I hate them.

c) We sucked.

That said...the fans had some good moments last year.

When we blocked that fg to send the Bama to OT....it got pretty crazy.

The few of us who stayed behind in the cold to watch us come back and beat Troy....you could look around and see the satisfaction in every fans' eyes that was still there......everybody had this "wait until I get outta here and rub it into so-and-so's face who left early" look.

2) About Urban Meyer

a) Everybody knows he is a douche. The entire country recognizes this except for Florida fans and the media, who seem to love him. What should you expect from a douche? Douchey comments.

b) Urban should STFU and win a game here before spouting off like that. Not smart. Why give us bulletin board material? As if we needed any more motivation to get up for this game.....

too late even if he does praise us. he ran his mouth on national tv.

i had to register to chime in on this. the original poster is trying to stir up the pot and make a big deal out of nothing.

i watched the cbs special on tv. urban was asked about how important stadium atmosphere is to the outcome of a game. he responded with something like, "atmosphere isn't all that important. if you score a few td's early in a place like tiger stadium, it'll quiet down real quick" ...words to that effect. he wasn't "dissing" tiger stadium in any way. he used it as an example for any tough football stadium. if anything, it should be taken as a compliment.

that would be the weakest bulletin board material ever.
