It pissed me off too. I've been able to move on from it, though. Amazingly, without the need to romanticize about how much "better" our student section was than the current one, either.
Although, I do wish y'all would stop getting songs banned and forcing more of that insufferable canned music upon us.

I'm right there with you, unlike what a couple of people in this thread seem to think, not all students think the chants are funny/clever/cool. Just not much can be done at this point tbh, it's not going away any time soon.

I dont know what it is about those seats. Ive been going to games for decades and that area is always the last to fill if it does at all. I've never figured it out.

FWIW I think it's stupid. But you will never convince thousands of drunk college students that screaming swear words isn't fun. I know a lot of my fellows in the SS don't say the naughty chants though

It's a college, you know, where STUDENTS attend...... Stop the whole "take student ticket" thing away. The only people who say this are the idiots who didn't even go to college.... Much less LSU.

I've been sitting there for 15 years, when they expanded the student section our seats were moved one section. The students cram toward the band and the field. LSU could sell two maybe three sections under the scoreboard and the students would never know it and people would have seats that are pretty good if you don't mind endzone seats. It is not that the seats are not sold it's just the students sit elsewhere. We talk about what a waste it is every game where I sit... oh well, we'll see. By the way have you seen all of the empty seats at the Oklahoma game? A whole lot more than one section.

And I'm a proud alumnus that donates to TAF and the alumni association. And guess what, there are a lot more of us out there than you dumb arse. Tiger Stadium would still sell out if the took away 3k student tickets.

True, but there was a weather delay in that game for more than an hour due to dangerous lighting. That probably accounts for much of the emptiness.

First off, drop the "take student tickets schtick"
Second. I was in the ss an I don't sing the vulgar songs but I also realize that LSu is a university for students first and taf donors second. I realize the students don't contribute monetarily, but without a student body there is no football.
Third, it's not difficult to chant and cheer while watching a game. It's quite easy actually. So to say the students don't watch the game is ridiculous.
Fourth, the regular fans leave earlier than students or don't even show up for small games.
Fifth, why must people complain about something when we just dropped 45 on a ranked sec team?
Sixth, nobody cares that you pay this amount of money for a ticket.

yet people in this thread claim not .. I am not saying that student section was nirvana .. but if you compare what they/we had to cheer for vs. what these spoiled brats have today .. thre's no relative comparison ..

L O fricking L. And without the other 80k fans in the stadium there wouldn't even be a fricking football program. The students would be watching a club match against UNO.

We won stop being miserable. For those who attended lsu know that football games is the best thing at lsu. Taking away student tickets would ruin a large part of an awesome college experience.

I hope ya'll dont really believe that the students have too many tickets. They could sell another 5k in student tickets. The problem is we all jam into the better seats. Nobody wants to sit in those seats
