Can'y say enough good about how the D has responded this year. They give us a chance in every game down the stretch.

A lot of people forgot we didn't get the warmups some of these other teams got for their offense.

We still get LaTech to blow out to increase our stats that people are so concerned over for some reason.

When we beat Bama this week the world will turn upside down in the media's eyes.

Yep, we're slowly but surely climbing these statistical rankings as the season progresses.

The statistics I'm most impressed by in terms of LSU:
Defense
Penalties
Kickoff coverage
Turnover margin

Really?
Washington
Mississippi State
Georgia
ULL

all have some of the worst defenses in the country
The offense had plenty of time to warm up

One more thought on that ... basically everything that went wrong in 2008 has been corrected in 2009.

These are the two things that will help in beating Bama.

He's just been holding back ... he unleashes his true potential this weekend.

Or at least we can hope...

If he doesn't, we lose.

I would feel more comfortable with that statement if it wasn't going to be the 9th game of the year.
Seems like LSU fans have been saying that since before season and each upcoming game.

I think this season at least what you see is what you are going to get. A raw QB who at times and wow you with his maturity and ability to throw the ball and a QB who the other times will make you shake your head and wonder what he is thinking.

ULL and teams in that group were what I was talking about.

The top 12 teams in total offense:

Houston
Nevada
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Notre Dame
Troy
Fresno State
Cincinati
Fla. Atlantic
BYU
Kansas
TCU

I'm not too sure I'd trade teams with any of these guys.

Jefferson will be fine ... he's probably one of the most polished 19-year-olds that I've ever seen play QB at LSU.

I expected a lot more mistakes from him this year ... and I have been pleasantly surprised with his decision-making.

The yards (and stats) will come in time ...

Bad teams tend to have good yardage stats because they are behind and have to throw to catch up. Teams get huge chunks of yards while getting blown out as the opposing defense goes to bend but don't break.

It is very difficult to take out the statistical "noise" when looking at yardage stats. Good teams tend to have lots of rushing yards not because running well leads to wins but because teams that are ahead tend to rush the ball to run the clock. Frankly, I've sort of given up and don't look at yardage stats at all.
