This could also be a huge feather in the cap for Les Miles. Giving TM7 a chance for redemption would only make him look even more like a father figure then he already is which could make him even more impressionable as a recruiter. After all that is said & done, LSU & the faithful fans would get what they want most & that's a helluva football player but even better person off the field. There is a real opportunity here to do so really good things here & knock down some barriers as well.
agreed if honeybadger were to come back and stay clean then it would be a amazing story and feather in the cap of les and LSU. Showing commitment to helping an athlete instead of just punishing him. We would have punished him but then like a father once his punishment was served and he earned his way back we reward him. Hopefully tm7 wants this and will stay clean and hopefully the administration will allow him this one last chance to improve his life by taking the hardest road and over coming it. I believe les already wants him back because of the kind of guy les miles comes off as that he deeply cares for these kids and wants the best for them. They aren't just meat to les miles

Even if he agrees to come back, it won't happen. He will get bored not playing and what do bored people do? They smoke.

Maybe. But there are some on the McNeese side that says that unless something changes, that's where he's going to end up.

Funny that if he was an alcoholic, none of this would be happening, and he'd still be on the team.

I think he will be alright in rehab and then working out. I would guess he would be back after the nc game and practicing with the team so just need to get through the fall.

Ok....If the policy and what he was told was that a 3rd offense would result in a 1 year suspension, then my opinion is different. I was under the impression, right or wrong, that he was told he was gone if he f'd up again. If he was told it would be one year, then they need to honor that imo. But, at this point, I'm confused as to what he was told....

You're confused because we don't know.

Well...whatever he was told was gonna happen (or what the policy says needs to happen) needs to happen. Period.

I really don't care what he may or may not have been told. If I told my son, if you hit another kid at school, I'm grounding you for a week. And he hit another kid because the kid punched his girlfriend first, I might not hold up to my end.

I don't think that's the best analogy to this situation, just noting that things aren't always that simple.

I appreciate what you are saying....but he was told not to smoke weed....synthetic or not. I dont know how it gets much simpler...

But why have a policy at all in that case?

look, I'd like to see the kid have the opportunity to keep his shite together for a year and play for LSU again...but this situation appears to be pretty simple, the consequences were laid out to him and he fricked up anyways.

I guess we'll know soon enough. As evidence from the traction on the board, the information from all over the place from a myriad of sources, it doesn't appear that it's that simple.
