You are forgetting another possibility though. What if at the time Miles made the statement that Mathieu would not be returning, he was told by Mathieu, "no thanks coach, I am choosing to go to an FCS school and enter the draft rather than sit out a year and return in 2013." Miles could have absolutely believed that based on their conversation, TM7 would never be seen in Purple and Gold again. But Mathieu changing his mind opens things back up and it is up to Miles and only Miles if he wants to let him try to come back. I seriously doubt Miles is the type to worry about looking foolish in front of the camera. It has never stopped him before.

As I said, I don't know the facts, so that leaves open a lot of possibilities. However, I think Miles would take him back if he could and based on policy, the only way he couldn't is #11.

the hardest road would be him staying at LSU but i think it leads to the best results if he can do it.

I think one condition of any kind of return would have to be that he has to close that damnable Twitter account.

My initial thought was, "he should stay at LSU"...

"sit out a full year"

But everyone said, "no way, he wanted to go pro and would never consider it..."

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger..

probably saw the stadiums he would play in and could not stomach it

He still can play for 2 years. Take a redshirt, pay ir own way. Then go make millions in the nfl. I know i did everything i could to stay at LSU when i dicked around my freshman year.

And ive already seen some dumb posts, but he would never be back on scholly at LSU. No way this could ever blow up, unless a booster pays is tuition. His scholly has been permanently revoked. And it should have. if his heart is in it he could get a job, pay instate tuitiin, play next year.

Exactly. Definitely the high risk, but will deliver the highest reward if he can pull it off.

Yeah it was never explained clearly and I doubt it ever will be, but it sounds like he was on the 3rd strike, one year suspension, then appeal for reinstatement step.

This is a really dumb decision on his part if he really goes through with it.

Go to McNeese, play hard, get drafted in the 4th round and start getting paid to be a special teams guy. Hopefully he could get at least one multi-million dollar contract in a few years. Silly to waste a year doing nothing IMO.

Why not redshirt? Hes sitting out this year anyway. Makes perfect sense, if he wants to come back.

Im not saying he will, but technically he can. And still play 2 seasons at LSU if he his allowed back. Rs wouldnt matter, he could still go pro after his rsjr year. Or he can go to mcnese, suck it up and go pro.

if he sits out, can he not redshirt? Why just waste a year of eligibility when he can still go pro next year either way?

He would probably be gone after 2013 anyway but it makes no sense to refuse it when it would be available. You never know what may happen with injuries next season.

the next season that TMmaybe7 plays in college will be his last. He's not hanging around college for 3 more years and potentially get in more trouble.

I think there's a rule about this.

He must be on the team to red shirt and a one year suspension would prevent him from being on the team, hence red shirt not an option.

Well I'll be a SOB! Lets hope so! I thought he broke school rules as well. Can he stay at LSU?
