Post before Auburn Game - LINK

After the Auburn game a couple new things jumped out.
1. Our Yards/Game has increased by around 40 yards each game we play.
2. At this rate we'll have a turnover margin of 28-0 by the end of the regular season.
3. We are STILL 100 percent in Red Zone scoring. Through 3 games last year (BYU, Chattanooga, and MS State) we were 10 for 13.
4. We have accumulated 22 tackles for loss through 3 games. Since 2008 and through 3 games, that's only been beaten in volume twice (2011 and 2010). It's only been beaten in yardage once (2010 - 152 to 132).
5. Although our defense gave up more points than we're used to on Saturday they are doing fantastic in terms of yards/play. Currently giving up an average of 4.38 per play. Since 2008 only two teams have averaged under 4.5 and only 2011 has average less than 4.38 (4.08)

My takeaways are.
The offense is gelling.
The defense is the best one Aranda has fielded yet and does fit the preseason narrative of rivaling 2011.

Stats are a little misleading, when have we opened with 2 top 10 teams in the first 3 games ?

And this is vs two top ten teams. This team has a high ceiling!

Not in my (cfbstats.com) stat scope has that happened (besides this year, obviously). It only solidifies the argument that this team is doing great things so far.
Even if they haven't been incredibly flashy.

I have been saying all year that we would have a good team, Coach E would develop a productive offense, and that our defense would be elite and the best since 2011. We have a long way to go, but these three things might be true.

Unfortunately the offense is probably still a year away.

Our yards per play improved slightly from Miami to Auburn, but was down significantly from SLU to Auburn.

Otherwise, I agree with you everywhere else.
