No. No,it hasn't. How about you? If LES hires Stoops. Stick a fork in it. He will be done.

I'm confused. Wasn't Chavis DC and LB coach. If he was filling a dual role, I don't see how there isn't a slot for 2 coaches (CP & BeBe). Unless the staff was switched like this to make room for someone on the staff currently. Can anyone shed light on this?

Regardless of who coaches what positions there are only 10 coaching spots available by rule. That number will be voted on to be moved to 11 this offseason but not sure on how that goes.

You can only have a certain # of coaches. We are one shy of that number without Chavis.

I'm pretty sure I saw they were 117th in PASSING defense. That's probably where that came from.

57 in YPA LINK

ETA: 50 in opponents passer rating.

coach O will come in if brick leaves. I don't think LSU will fire him or move him to an administrative position.
we'll we will need a LB coach so how will that work if no one is reassigned?

I wouldn't lose to much sleep over the details, they'll all get sorted out in due time.

@PillageUrVillage- did your psychic connection with CLM tell you he has a career death wish to go along with that hire ????

Here is the stat I saw. It is total passing yards via ESPN. They are 117th.

All indications are that Chavis really laid down on the job and it's something Les wants to see different with the new DC.

I've heard the same thing and it came from within the circle of LSU's largest donors. The issue was raised last year when another (specific) coach and recruiting staff were seemingly on a 24/7 recruiting march across the country. Fingers were being pointed at individuals on our staff who didn't seem to have the same energy required to compete with that staff. One of those guys is gone now and the other had a pass and was seemingly untouchable. This isn't hard to figure out as you can clearly see a trail of pics when a recruiter is pounding pavement. Believe me when I tell you that you can take the attitudes of the LSU fans that post here and translate it to the circle of donors that matter to our AD.

The concern last year was that Les was pushing a few coaches (mostly Wilson) too hard while others didn't have to hit the road. If you've ever had a job where you have to fly around the country on a weekly basis you would know how tiring it is. It sucks and our coaches should be commended for the sacrifices that they make for the team. I'm very confident that, regardless of who we hire at DC, we will see more effort on the recruiting trail...from the entire coaching staff.

This is good news. I've spent chunks of the last 5 years being a road warrior (more by car than plane, but still gone all the time), and I agree. It can really take a toll, especially if you are racking up big time OT hours along with the travel. I got really worn down on two occasions and had some negative health impact. I would imagine our heavy recruiters get that every year from November to Early February. My hats off to them.

I hope Miles and Alleva will end the Prima Donna treatment that Chavis got, and make everyone on the staff share that burden from now on.

Then you should feel good to know that our AD and HC are looking at the big picture and not just the DC hire right now. I too wish that they could make this happen quicker but it's just not that easy.

How much will it take to get CP to be DC for us?

That's good to know. Any chance you can elaborate more on the "big picture?"

Which staff members are "dead weight" in recruiting beyond the now departed Chavis? Ensminger? Peveto? Cam? The other guys have good to very good reps in that department.

totally... honestly i'd rather shoop than pendergast, but i'd take either over stoops.

That dip in the chart is the Shoop Bloop (2OT).
