I want Herman and keep O on as recruiting co and DL coach. If not Herman, then O. I DO NOT want Fisher. If you can't win consistently in the ACC, then I don't want you in Purple and Gold

I love this argument. No Jimbo because he can't consistently win the ACC, but let's bring in Herman who can't consistently win the AAC or O who can't win anywhere.

It's such a solid point.

Really a Herman's choice with O as a fall back. O is seen as a safer fall back than Fedora and Gundy.

So, basically, we're screwed.

With Fedora or Gundy we are most likely going to be having another coaching search in 4-5 years anyway. I would rather O get it than one of those 2.

O has never been as successful as Fedora or Gundy. There is zero evidence that he can run a program long term.

Gundy is 60 games above .500 at a little brother school and has taken them to multiple NY6/BCS games. O went 10-25.

Why would Aranda to be a DC under a with no qualifications who used to be under him? Wheres the guarantee that this mythical top paid OC wants to come coach under fricking Orgeron or that he will be a success? Finally O has never been proven to be a great recruiter as HC. If you compare their classes Freeze destroys him when their ole Miss classes are looked at head to head

So everyone should be judged on their performance 10 years ago and not what has happened in th recent?

He has a LOSING fricking record as a head coach. Other coaches have had WINNING records at Ole Miss. No amount of BS politicking will ever change those facts.

Okay let's just by the recent, O led LSU against two teams with a pulse this season and we crapped the bed in both.

No.

Look at it like this from a business vantage point.

Pay more money for X result equals a loss
Pay less money for same X result equals win.

The Admin has basically determined through a cost benefit analysis, O is a better option than Fedora and Gundy.

I would pay 10 million for Saban, Myer, Harbaugh, and Peterson. I view the money as a better investment. They have a lower risk.

It is not about going cheap but risk reward.

Plus a cheaper candiate is much easier to get rid of.

He's 11-4 as interim at USC and LSU. Two top 10 programs in terms of talent.

Everything should be taken into account. Just because O said he learned from his failures doesn't mean he will be able to actually change. Being the interim coach is a lot different from being the head coach.

This.

Also, I'd bet the farm that his "big" OC hire is Kiffin, which is a fricking joke. He's not going to leave Alabama except for a HC gig.

Lol yeah. He will actually get coaches and not have multiple GAs coaching position groups. He will fill the staff he wants not the one he hopped into.

Explain why since that time he hasn't been hired as a HC somewhere else?

Kidding already rejected O being his boss once. he isn't leaving Bama to be the OC at LSU.
