If its Coach O he better hire Art fricking Briles as OC. We are going to end up with a shittier Les Miles

This just illustrates what a brilliant pr campaign this has been from the outset. Getting the players to buy in is not too difficult. Most players are going to play hard for their coach and want him to stay. With regards to the fans, the pr blitz for coach o has been on another level. Finally, inviting all of the former players back to home games was an obvious ploy to gain their support, and it has apparently succeeded. I hope our admin can see through all of this BS because coach o is not the answer.

LSU is in very good shape here in my opinion.
If we get Herman, it looks as if we give O a big pay raise and put him at D-Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator unless another P5 schools comes asking him to be head coach. He can be happy being the highest paid assistant.
If we don't get Herman, we get O and he takes a huge pay cut. Where Herman would take 4-6 million, and Jimbo would take at the very least 6.5 million, we could probably get Coach O for as little as 2-3 million, clearing up plenty of money to throw at new assistants. Throw a million or two at a top level OC. Give Aranda whatever else he wants for defense. Get rid of BDP.
LSU will be fine.

The problem in this scenario is that, if we miss on a coordinator, good night. He isn't going to be able to cover for someone who doesn't work out.
His in-game decision making in our two biggest games was also suspect. We just got rid of a coach for that (and many other) reason. There is legitimate reason for concern.

If we have an extra $2,000,000 laying around looking for a coordinator, not to mention Cam's $1,500,000 salary space that's cleared up, it would be hard to miss completely. That would basically double - quadruple the salary of about any offensive coordinators in the country. We would get somebody. We would not be looking at Ensminger again.
Worst thing about getting O would likely be retaining some combination of BDP, Grimes, and Moffit.

Ill call tonight and check. There wont be alot of new info tonight or tomorrow because Herman is traveling and texas is playing now.
If Texas loses look for a hard press on Herman tonight.
Really a Herman's choice with O as a fall back. O is seen as a safer fall back than Fedora and Gundy.
Ill update with anything concrete.

I want Herman and keep O on as recruiting co and DL coach. If not Herman, then O. I DO NOT want Fisher. If you can't win consistently in the ACC, then I don't want you in Purple and Gold. IMO, Fisher and his agent are moving the goal posts, because Fisher knows he'll never cut it in the SEC West. I think he would rather hold on to FSU, because he know's in 2-3 years, he'd be looking for another HC job cause he'd be out at LSU. So Herman or BeBe.

So O over a Fisher because Fisher can't win in the ACC consistently? O can't win anywhere consistently.

With Fedora or Gundy we are most likely going to be having another coaching search in 4-5 years anyway. I would rather O get it than one of those 2.
