Hellmers 2 innings of 1 hit relief. Would have let him go back out for a 3rd inning.

I thought Thompson did something very small but crucial in the top of the 9th with 2 outs. He had no play on that slow roller so he ate it. He kept his cool and knew the situation. A lot of kids throw it away right there and that would’ve obv been the tying run.
There were mistakes but there were crucial plays that were made and a testament to their character to overcome a handful of errors against a very good team.

I'm starting to really LOVE what this team is becoming. The last few games look like 08-09. Every time Oregon made a play and took the lead we were able to counter punch. Dugas and Bianco especially, but the Doughty doubles and the hit for Thompson, who had struggled a little at the plate were so clutch.
We have a real shot at revenge this weekend, and how poetic would that be? One more trip to Omaha for CPM, with a team that had largely disappointed during the regular season, but flipped the switch in the regional.
Classic Paul! Geaux Tigers!

This whole regional was about as much of a team win as I’ve seen in a long. Just about everyone that traveled contributed to the wins at some point of the weekend. I think Milas may have been the only one that didn’t play. But for the unsung part, kudos to the trainer for getting the pitchers ready to go again on the short rest and to the strength coach for having them in shape to get through a tough regional. Again, a total team win.

I saw Drew Bianco save an entire family of six, at the same time, from a burning house during a Hurricane. He carried them on his back and ran to safety while providing them with water and telling the children bedtime stories

Thompson for the clutch hit in the 8th to get the insurance run?
That was a clutch hit, but I wouldn’t call Thompson an unsung hero. He needs to clean up committing too many costly mistakes in the field. It led to at least one Oregon run last night.
