How is that an error? Very high chop that was fielded and caught cleanly.
ETA - now a hit officially

Watching it live I think Merrifield could have actually been more aggressive on it.

He’s not really showing he can play RF right now. He’s not reading fly balls well at all. Always late movement.

Someone needed to be. I just saw Thompson sitting back and waiting.

That can improve with reps. I would guess he’s going get tried at both corner spots in the infield and outfield his first year as a pro. Regardless of what he looks like now, he will have to prove in pro ball that he can’t play those spots.

His arm hasn’t really been tested yet either. No idea what his mph are from out there.

We’re gonna sweep the Shriners

I read a scouting report on Doughty that said he was positioned further away from the bag than normal DP depth and that contributed to his awkwardness on the turns.
He looked good there.

Every time he gears up the throw it looks like he’s throwing it straight into the ground.

55-1 incoming, obviously
bottom 6, Milazzo leading off
righty Gray now pitching for UNO
swing and a miss, 0-1
strike, 0-2
high and inside, 1-2
called strike 3, even though catcher dropped it low

Uno pitchers keep getting shorter

Thompson is a pussy.
Eta Merrifield did the right thing.

Johnson said he had a strong arm

His shoulders were way too closed, approaching the bag incorrectly. Had to throw across his body. Nothing to do with depth. Prob nothing to do with coaching. Just needs reps.

Two of the called strikes were balls
