Yes. Walker throws four pitches; Fontenot throws two. Good hitters will start guessing Fontenot’s pitch and sit on it. He has good action and arm angle, but by the third time through they will likely be mashing him.
When Walker is on he keeps teams off balance. He locates all of his pitches and baffles the bad guys. He has not established the consistency of 2017, but his consistency has been improving. You start Walker because you hope to get his good stuff. If you do he gives you 6 or 7 innings, and you likely win. If he doesn’t you trot out a Fontenot after two innings, and hope he gets you to the late innings. In his second to last start Walker had a great outing going 6 innings and giving up two hits.
