I think Miami, Va. Tech, and Ga. Tech all had better teams than NC.

Dude you can't be serious. I'll agree with you that LSU's offense may have more speed than MOST ACC teams, but I think the offenses of VT, FSU, and Miami are just as fast, and better for that matter.I suggest you just go take a look at what this "overrated" UNC defense did against VT and Miami (our defense let us down against FSU).

Yes, we saw first hand what those powerful offenses of VT and Miami could do the last time we played each in the last few years....something like a combined 86-10.....yeah, you got us there...lmao......and fsu throttled your defense...what did they do to florida again?

I didn't realize they weren't in the conference. Thanks for clearing that up.

Thats not the question. I like how LSU homers try throw a smoke screen when put to the test.

I don't know if LSU can make a great argument for team speed when you see our performances in the combine from the past few seasons. Other conferences have speed too. Did you see Michigan against Florida in the Gator Bowl or Capital One Bowl (whichever it was)? How about USC vs Auburn 2003? USC vs Arkansas 2005 and 2006? USC beat Arkansas in Fayetteville 50-14. This is the same Arkansas team that won the SEC West. Or how about the same Arkansas team that torched our defense in 2007 that got blown out by Missouri in their bowl game? Bama vs. Utah?

The point I'm making is that there is such a thing as team speed outside the SEC.

YOu really are one of the more ignorant on here. You make a list of 4 or 5 teams...some of which were premiere teams playing less than top sec teams.....and USC has always had as much talent....UNC ain't no USC idiot. Yes, Michigan physically whipped florida in florida's down year in 2007 WITHOUT percy harvin, and on loyd carr's last game.........what you failed to mention was about the 50 or 60 games in the other direction on the w/l side when sec played other teams outside the conference.....LOL.....TWO great examples would be florida/ohio state...and lsu/ohio state. YOu are not smart enough to realize when we say team speed primarily we are talking about linemen and lb's etc...not nec skilled players.....

Agreed, but we were saying this before all of those other ACC games too.

Hope you're right, dude. But there's going to be a ton of Tigah fans in the Georgia Dome on Sept. 4 with their arms crossed, waiting to be shown that we wont' have a repeat of last year. I really hope we win BIG so we've got something to feel good about going into Vancerbilt. If we LOSE big - Gawd forbid - at least we'll know where we stand for 2010. A close and ugly win by LSU will be about as well-received as a close and ugly loss, unfortunately.

I like that better than all the ones who say we're going to kill them! I think we'll win but we were going to kill PSU last year too...

We didn't whip Florida's arse in 2007. And they did have Percy Harvin in 2007. And our linebackers have been slow at the combine. It really hurts being called ignorant by the guy who almost started a race riot on the rant when he said black quarterbacks don't have what it takes to win big. As for Arkansas being middle of the pack, they WON the SEC west in 2006. They gave everyone fits, beating Auburn and taking us down to the wire. They ultimately lost because Houston Nutt blew it at the end of the game. They were absolutely embarrassed by USC at Arkansas. It was the first game of the season, and Arkansas didn't have the two-hour time difference excuse we used for the UW game last year.

And yes, Ohio State is terrible against the SEC in bowl games, but Michigan is 23-5-1 against the SEC all-time and 7-3 in bowl games.

I believe that LSU will beat North Carolina by at least two touchdowns.

I don't think this game will be close.

I understand that UNC is a good team and that they have talented players. I don't automatically dismiss teams because of their conference.

The only talk I hear about this game is LSU's offense vs. UNC's defense.

I hear no one talking about UNC's offense taking on LSU's defense.

I do not believe that UNC will be able to score enough points on LSU's defense to win this game.

I think LSU's offense has more explosive playmaking ability than UNC's does. Despite UNC's very solid defense, I think LSU puts the ball in the end zone. If you think LSU will be held to 17 points or less in this game, you're dreaming.

LSU is NOT that bad.

However, it occurs to me that their NFL draft choices might look real good right now because they play in the ACC, but if they were at SEC schools, they would be competing for spots on defense.

LSU has 6 DT's and 4 DE's on NFL rosters, North Carolina has 3 DT's and 4 DE's.

Isn't that practically the same team LSU hung 28 on?
What about NC State ? Oh, nm, didn't stop them either.
Well they held Duke to 6pts.
