This question came up last night. In any non-conference game, which conference's umpires are used? The home team's?

The umpires for non-conference games are not from one particular conference. The home team usually provides the umpires. There is a local assignment secretary who handles games for schools such as LSU, Tulane, SLU, UNO, Nicholls, etc. Most of the umpires during non conference games are associated with SEC, Southland Conference, or CUSA when conference season starts.

Considering the bad calls in the games so far, it's only right.
