Do you guys think ULM and Army are that much better than AF, or is it just early season jitters and kinks that our guys are working out? My thought is it’s nothing more than opening weekend jitters. Jaden Hill is looking pretty damn good!! Thanks for your insight and GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Well those 3 teams all went 1-1 against each other this weekend. That’s why you often hear the phrase “that’s baseball.” It’s so much different than every other sport. Much more likely we were just kinda flat the first 2 games and this is how we will play against most of these inferior teams moving forward.

It's Sunday. We probably would have hit well against ULM's and Army's third starter today, too.

Is this for sure AF’s #3 or did they save a guy for us?

Taught at Air Force for six years--it is almost impossible to get good baseball talent there. Snow covers the field until early May. Army blew them out, too.
Hard-working kids, but nowhere near the talent level of the other teams this weekend.
Now they would kill LSU in hockey!

Very few teams have more than one or two quality starters. Getting AF's third starter was batting practice for LSU today.

Transitive property does not work in sports and it works even less in baseball.

Again, thanks for the constructive response! The reason for my post was to try and get an understanding as to why LSU so underwlwemed against ULM and Army and not so much about how they faired against AF’s “third pitcher”.

I would say three pretty decent, but not great teams.

Is that a slap at LSU? No. You did what you had to do to put them away. Army on opening weekend vs LSU probably looks a lot different than Army vs LSU at the end of the season when LSU is in full stride.

I would say this is a fine opening weekend for LSU. You won three games, you were tested to the wire in one and your team responded.

You can be a bit concerned that you gave up quite a few runs but I think that is a combination of the weather and the first three games of the season.
