Yeah actually it is.
We only have about 10-12 non conference games. And recently we only play 1 in state team each year. Why would we fill that with a home and home with ULL when similar programs don’t demand a return trip?

Name change university has been on LSU arse lately.
Tensions have definitely escalated since Alleva swooped in and stole their ideal replacement for Hudspeth

I am not demanding that LSU play UL. I believe you think that is what I am saying. I'm not. But some of you in here are acting like it's beneath LSU to play them and its not. Especially when LSU is playing other directional schools, and far far worse programs.

Easy Tar Heel.
LSU has made a concerted effort to play state schools across the board. Big Brotha hears the same line of BS across the state when one directional school has a bright spot in 1 sport for a couple years and LSU is scared to play "them".
Look at next year's football schedule, we play baseball on the road several times a year, play women's basketball/ softball on the road etc. LSU has gone out of its way the last 20 years to help the other state schools. LSU shouldn't and will not put itself in a compromising position over and over just to help out another school. Why should it?
LSU has a responsibility to itself 1st and foremost and when it can balance the 1st objective with assisting others then it does so. Not all the time but often.
LSU played a brutal schedule this year with a depleted roster. This schedule was made by Johnny Jones and his misfits several years ago. ULL is butt hurt because it had its greatest season in about 20 years and it gets slapped by having to drive to BR and play a pretty mediocre LSU team. By the way the NIT set this venue not LSU. Not much respect for the Peppers outside Laffy
Check the details on the contracts on football payouts... Small state schools whining about not getting paid the same as say New Mexico State to come to BR -- basically a state school who drives to BR wants the same gross figure (including much higher travel for some mid major coming from 1000+ miles). The cry is LSU is taking advantage of ULL/ULM/La Tech / Southeastern / McNeese etc even though those guys are coming out much better "net" even by getting a deplorable, low ball contract from LSU. Bitch, Bitch, Bitch

Like I said we’ve only played 1 instate school per year recently. There are multiple other schools than ULL. Spots are limited.
There are a ton of other factors that go into it than some school just saying they are available.

LSU has nothing to gain by playing the Cajuns but plenty to gain by playing Alcorn st, Samford, tenn Martin and north Florida right? Explain that one.

That's pretty much my point. I get that LSU plays an in state school per year. That's fine for football, but when you have more games, more wiggle room, basketball could be a place where you can schedule more than one. I for one would certainly rather LSU play UL-Lafayette in basketball than Alcorn St or North Florida. LSU hasn't played an in state school in men's basketball in 2 seasons. Last one was McNeese in 2015.

I’m ok with that. What I’m not ok with is playing an instate school on the road in basketball.
And I have a feeling regardless of what ULL says, they are demanding a home and home behind closed doors

why do they call themselves Louisiana? isn't it University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL)? why doesn't the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) also call itself Louisiana?

Seriously it would take a lot more than USL to rustle anyone's jimmies.
SLI, USL, ULL: It's all the same. You still belong in the old Gulf States Conference with NLU, Louisiana Tech, NSU and McNeese. A directional school with high hopes.
All hat and no cattle.
It's okay. You'll be alright. Therapy will help.

Ah yes, another "know your place" rant by the board lib himself. "You belong with Nicholls and Lamar. Blah blah blah...."
Feel better for getting that off of your chest?
