Because LSU needs less degree-granting institutions?

What does it hurt you if someone gets a degree from Nichols (which you left out)

Pretty much says it all.

Just to play DA, I don't think he meant to type it like that; he probably just typed it too quick. Our fingers aren't made for PC keyborads like the ladies.' :0

Who fricking cares if we say ULL, UL, UL-Lafayette, Louisiana-Lafayette, etc. Don't we all know it's that school in Lafayette with the second largest enrollment, and it's under the University of Louisiana system?

This is just like LSU baseball & ulala, Coach Bustle has the cajuns up & running, pushing LSU just like Coach Robe has put the baseball team on the same level as LSU

Only a ULL fan could come up with something like that...

Penis Envy is rampant in Lafayette that is for sure.

Why is there a UL-Lafayette and UL-Monroe, but no UL-Lake Charles, UL-Hammond or UL-Natchitoches? How did McNeese, Southeastern and Northwestern escape the UL designation? (All three of those should probably be Junior Colleges anyway).

4 Year
LSU, Tulane, UNO, USL, NELa, LaTech, Southern, Grambling.

2 Year
SELa, NWLa, McNeese, La.College, Centenary

Schools could choose to take the UL-Direction name, if they wanted. This applied to schools only in the UL System. Neither LC nor Centenary are in the the UL System. They're automatically out of the argument.

Also, no downgrading on SLU to 2yr status. At least not until I graduate.

Centenary is four year (unless several friends are lying.)

Clear?

not really.

The schools name is Univeristy of Louisiana at lafayette.

Sigh.
My mom graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute. She's proud to tell people she graduated from USL. She got a good education, taught school her whole career, and is a retired teacher.

I graduated from Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College -- known as LSU. I'm proud of my association with LSU.

I have graduate school hours from The University of Southwestern Louisiana.

One of my sisters graduated from McNeese State and was a teacher.

Can McNeese and ULL hang with LSU on the football field? I don't think so. Could it happen Saturday night? I sure don't hope so.

Do I fault ULL for trying to utilize the "University of Louisiana" brand? No.

Before ULM and ULL took the University of Louisiana brand, AFAIK, Louisiana was the only state not to have a "University of" or "NameofState University" in the state.

What's wrong with ULL trying to grow into the size/stature of their "Big Brother" LSU?

Nothing! That is why no one can rebut it. Fans will be fans and want to see their program become better. LSU football was a laughing stock in the 80's and 90's and recently became a powerhouse. As LSU fans I think we lose sight of that.

ULL alums and fans want to see their program gain a little respect, but you have to earn it. I don't see them coming in TS and competing, but it's okay if their fans think they can. Some fans get their panties all in a wad when a competing school's fans attest that they can compete with your school. Just relax.

Centenary is a 4 year liberal arts private school that 90 percent of LSU students couldn't afford or don't have the ACT scores to get in.

That is an overstatement and not true. Certainly never comparable to ULL's.
