We live west of Houston and usually stay in Scott after LSU games. Then hit Dons specialty meats for great boudin, cracklins , stuffed chickens etc before heading home Sunday.

He needs to check Waze before he leaves.

190 is an option.

But you're right. It took me 4 hours to make the drive from exit 100 to south Baton Rouge once.

That’s what I’d do.

Stop at the Chicken “Kang” in Port Barre for the best rice dressing you will ever have. Then roll through Daddy Bou’s for a car wash and a daiquiri.

Or Bosco’s outside of Opelousas for a terrific plate lunch. Or King’s for the best fried eggs I’ve ever had.

Then Billy’s in Krotz Springs for the best boudin/cracklin pairing in the business.

Where would you recommend staying? W

I’d stay close to the racetrack, horse racing. That would make it easier heading back to FW.

There are plenty of new hotels off of Kaliste Saloom not far from the airport

That's not a bad bet either. Plenty of hotels.

It's also a much straighter shot to get to 190 if things look bad on I-10. If you're in Breaux Bridge and you need to get to 190 you'll be on a bayou road.

Just uhhhh.............skip Cowboys Nightclub. It's not unheard of for an unhappy wrangler to ride his horse into the bar, lasso a patron, and drag them into the parking lot.

Margaritaville campground in breaux bridge has cabins that would fit your group. Easy 35-40 minute drive once you get on the interstate.

Laplace. About 45 mins southeast of BR along I-10 toward Nola. That’s if y’all are just trying to get in and out of BR. A little further trip for you but may be less of a head ache getting in and out of BR.

He’s a friendly Gator fan, not a Gump, no need to frick him over.

OP Don’t listen to this guy at all. I don’t think you can lose if you get an Airbnb in BR or stay in Laffy. If you stay in laffy come in from the North and park on the North side off campus and walk. After the game you’ll be able to head out, back to the I-10, and then east with little to no problem.

He said he's coming in from Texas. Why would he want to add another 5-6 hours of driving?

Holiday Inn Express in Scott. Smoked boudin and Fezzos before continuing west.

Sounds like we will be doing an airbnb in Lafayette or Breaux Bridge. We got offered to park at the Cross of Calvary Lutheran church and will walk through enemy territory from there. Thanks everyone. Can't wait for an electric atmosphere. Go Gators.
