Have you seen Hawaii’s Dline? We will learn absolutely nothing from this game other than UCLA’s qb isn’t good

Y’all are giving the OP a world of shite, but go take a look at any preview magazine or listen to 247’s preview podcast on the Bruins. The O Line is the strongest unit on their team, not because of how they looked vs Hawaii, but performance over the last season and a half and them having a couple of good draft prospects. They are legitimately good.

That said, I don’t think they are better than our D Line. They definitely don’t have that kind of depth.

They looked good …. I give them credit. However, Hawaii was a bit overmatched

Their QB is complete fricking garbage. With any bit of pressure we get 3 picks.
LSU 48 UCLA 14

Agree with 3 picks and your score!

They could be legit but you can't tell a lot from just this one game.

Excellent point. They did good, really good, against Hawaii. But it didn’t look like they were challenged very much. Will they be able to execute as well against a Tiger unit that’s most likely much stronger, quicker, more athletic, experienced, deeper, etc…I don’t believe the answer is yes but they could be effective enough to get some things done. Some posters are saying our D-line will dominate but that seems a bit of a brag/trash talk to me.

I think they’re bigger problem is going to be that Durante knows their QB/receivers can’t win consistently vs our DBs and they will have to deal with a lot of guys in the box. Tough to consistently block 8 vs the run.

Both of y’all’s predictions I like. I don’t necessarily think it’s close 3 quarters then we pull away big though. I think we control most of the game by 13-16 points and then maybe tack one on at the end. Something like 38 to 41 points for LSU and 13 to 20 points for UCLA. Worst scenario is 38-20 LSU IMO. I watched bits of the UCLA game. “DTR” their Qb, is trash. He’s getting the 4th year Jordan Jefferson treatment. Overhyped bc of experience, and analysts such as Herbstreit and others anointing him as a team leader and improved difference maker versus actually being a team weakness.
He is actually a team weakness though. So, our game plan is simple: Stop the run, use a linebacker/safety as a spy with man to man coverage, make DTR beat us with his arm over the top. And IF we do that, I can’t see them possibly scoring more than like 20. And on offense…, just play our game. The UCLA defense was OK vs a bad looking Hawaii team. Hawaii QB forced too much, the receivers for Hawaii had several unfortunate timed drops, and they had a punt blocked that UCLA scored on. UCLA Was easily the better team. But as head coach Todd Graham for Hawaii said; “they were better than us today, but we made them look even better”.
Stats
DTR 17-39 for 243 yards 1td 3 To’s.
Rushing-they get 120 plus.

LSU
Max Johnson 18-29 for 289 yards 2 td 0 To’s
Team rushing-150 yards
Defense gets a few sacks and 2 picks and a fumble.
I think our offense only out gains them by maybe a hundred yards, but defense and offensive 3rd down conversion rate is ultimately what controls this game in LSU’s favor. “GEAUX TIGERS”

i’m the farthest thing from a homer, but Hawaii was awful and UCLA’s QB can’t throw.

We win by 3 TDs.

It is possible based on this one game that this UCLA team is the best college team ever. It is also possible the Hawaii team is the second best college team ever. Its also possible the Hawaii team is with worst ever, and UCLA is the second worse ever. But it is probable that the answer is somewhere between the two

You think the UCLA o-line is going to be able to contain Ojulari and Gaye?
