It was simple possession which is a misdemeanor. They weren't found in his car. They were found in the apartment. Likely, Mathieu was arrested because he was there. He might be clean. He might pass a drug test. Regardless, he will likely get a fine and unsupervised probation. It's a first offense.
It's Jefferson's fault for trying to break into an apartment complex...and Mathieu's for letting the cops in the house to begin with--which makes me think he might not have known anything was there.
