People were in denial about Chavis.. there was enough floating out there prior to the bowl gane to make me nervous.
Brick as DC doesn't have the same feel IMO. Call it denial, but your source is one of many saying any number of different things.

Believe what you want. I know how this site is with rumors and I have never been known to post them. Surprised this thread hasn't been whacked yet. I just didn't want everyone to buy into shoop coming here when I knew it wasn't going to happen.
Wish I could give some insight into Braxton miller coming but if the staff doesn't know, neither do I.
Just try not to melt too hard when brick is named DC. The rant has been unbearable enough as of late.

If its Brick I just don't know what to say, its borderline pathetic. Brick doesn't deserve a raise much less a promotion. But hey as long as he can recruit and the rest of the staff enjoys working for him, well frick needing the ability to actually coordinate a D.
Guess the money saved on this hire can go towards Les' impending buy out

Because he isn't coming off a NC the year prior and his DC didn't leave for a promotion. .. this is a bigger hire than Cameron tbh.

a) Shoop is a proven great coordinator. Haley's Dline has gotten worse every year and his one stint as a DC was at Baylor where he was awful.
b) Did he trust Chief before he came here? He promoted from his staff once before and the results were catastrophic. He should trust his own history of doing something like that.
c) Brick is still on staff to cover his area. You also get a tie in to the northeast with the new guy. Win Win.
d) The rest of the staff wants a guy that offers them job security. If my boss gets fired, I want the guy to replace him that is going to kick arse. This provides job stability and better likelihood of future raises.
It makes much more sense to go the Shoop route. That being said, welcome DC Coach Haley.

Brick is nothing special at recruiting. That reason needs to be thrown out as a positive. He is a perennial also-ran.

i never said it wasn't inconceivable...i just don't think anyone (including your "source") knows what is going on.
