That's what I was thinking. I don't have a problem with him swinging at the first pitch because you know the pitcher was going to try to force one down the middle. It's the subsequent swings that were prototypical Jordan

Guy walks in a run, he's more likely to throw a fastball over the middle of the plate. First pitch thrown was exactly that, he just whiffed. He shouldn't have swung at the second pitch

If it was a major league game I’d buy that. But a college pitcher who’s struggling? Beau could have put the bat on his shoulder for the first 3 pitches and the count would have been 2-1 at worst. Then you look fastball in a certain spot. At 1-2 guy could throw anything close and beau has to swing at it, which he did, on a curve ball down for a pop up.

It didn’t work out. He should have taken pitches.

Yes, a major league pitcher wouldn't leave a fastball over the middle of the plate on purpose. A college pitcher would just to get a strike

Did we score runs with that strategy? No, wrong call.

Is this really your argument

Beau could have popped out on a 2-1 count. Does that change if it was a good call or not? Every call in baseball doesn't work out. That doesn't mean it was the wrong call

What did happen is Beau did, in fact, get a belt high fastball inside middle. That is an excellent pitch to hit. He just didn't.
