How does this happen? Their is no reason in hell USC should have down years in baseball with all of the talent in cali.
Shoot, even LSU's Matt Clark came all the way from Southern California to play (and excel) at LSU.
Really though, with the tradition Rod Dedeaux installed at SC, baseball HAS to come back and be a force.
It's just easy to overlook that sometimes in a town that has the Dodgers a few miles up the Harbor Freeway and the Mighty Halos a half an hour down the Interstate 5 (traffic permitting).
College baseball doesn't get the attention it deserves.
You folks at LSU do it right.

First of all, we and when I say we, I mean LSU sports fans rarely if ever see USC on the field of competition. LSU fans have angst toward everything USC because they are the darlings of EPSN and they undeservingly campaigned to try to steal a piece of something we rightfully earned.
The whole get over it . . . your stupid . . . let it go . . . crowd really boils me. I am happy that you don't care, and don't let it get to you, but don't act like "Three-Pete" Carroll did not steal some of our luster from our accomplishment. As LSU fans we have a right to be pissed at him and his prima dona school for pulling that weak arse shite. Not only that but up until Vince Young and Texas destroyed the dream, USC and their carnival barker aka ESPN were touting that USC was going for the "Three-peat" when in fact they have a grand total of 1 crystal football to show for their dominance of college football since the spawning of the BCS. Same as Ohio St., Oklahoma, and Texas. The "little guys" trend that they can't beat have finally waken the college football writers up to the fact that their conference is a complete fricking sham and a joke in comparison to other real conferences. This newfound realization narrowed their margin for error and cost them another shot at the title this year. That did not stop "Three-Pete" Carroll from getting on his soapbox again and campaigning for it - he has no shame. frick USC. Tigerbait their asses every time you see those bandwagon fans of theirs that suddenly live all over the country.
Unfortunately, I don't have a 30 second memory like a lot of the jackasses in this country have, and my sense of history will not allow me to forget when someone tries to steal something from me. So I will not ever apologize for holding a torch for the west coast wing nuts. Unfortunately we just have to face it that some LSU fans are just pussies.

i'm sure if the situations were reversed LSU would have refused the AP title and no LSU fans would ever refer to themselves as champs that year
