You may want to look at Memphis area for nicer hotels. Tupelo is Ok, but Bama playing MSU may sell out Tupelo.

It is an uppity shithole. I swore years ago I’d never go back.
I hate it so bad, I wouldn’t even buy a lab from Briar Rose. I couldn’t love a dog with roots in that county.
But, now, one of my best friends will have a daughter married in the shite hole in December...on December 7th, no less. I will go.
I am a bit crushed, but I’ll endure.

Headed to Memphis from Murfreesboro Friday after work. Be in Oxford midday Saturday. Not sure where to go or what to expect.

Etytgr you may need to call directly. Lots of hotels don’t lost their rooms on their sites — but if you find anywhere just know it’s typically pricey on game weekends.
You can also try Batesville or Grenada.

Does anyone have any tailgating plans? As of now, my brother-in-law and I are planning to wander around The Grove in hopes to be invited to an Ole Miss tailgate, or head to the downtown square.

Guys, they have a strict open container policy. Allen alcohol must be in a cup. You can have an ice chest but as long as the cops do not see it you are ok, I have seen guys walk8ng with a case of beer and the cops made the. Pour each beer out

LSU is section “S” and there are tickets remaining in the LSU section.
I would recommend staying in Southaven, MS which is fairly nice suburb Of Memphis. There is a nice selection of hotels an restaurants there. If you’re in the mood to party after the game, it’s is only a couple of miles to Beale street.
I’m rolling out Saturday morning!

Batesville has built several new hotels over the last few years. They may all be booked with being that close. Hernando also has some hotels and it’s about an hour away. Like someone said earlier the Southaven/Horn Lake area has many options but a little longer drive. We live in Senatobia and have 1 hotel it’s about 35-40 minutes away.

You dont want to be invited to their tailgates. I promise. Its not the same as BR. Chicken tenders and sammiches. Now, if you like eating cold chicken tenders and talking to strangers then I guess it could be your thing
