1) Do not expect any hospitality or tailgate invites.
2) Do not walk to the stadium on the bar side (they spit on you from the roof of the bar/s).
3) Follow all the rules unless you are wearing orange and blue.
4) Try not to get in a fight unless you want to.
Saving grace: Had a great tailgate with the Central Florida Alumni group.

Go see the Don Garlits drag racing hall of fame in Ocala.

So the worst road trip in the SEC to see the worst LSU team in the last 20 years?
Sounds like a blast

David’s BBQ
Leonardo’s Pizza Millhopper
These are the two best things in Gainesville. I grew up there back in the 70’s -80’s.

Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza in the Holiday Inn downtown was really good. The LSU softball team ate there a few years ago.
Also Miller Ale House is a good sports bar/restaurant

Don’t do it. This is such a bad idea. Gainesville is awful.

We went to Blue Gill on 13th which was pretty good
Also hit up a large American style bar/grill on University Ave that was their version of Walk-On's...its was a good time too

Excluding LSU, I've been to 7 SEC stadiums on road trips. Florida is the only one I would not want to make a return trip too. Terrible experience and the fans were pricks. Will never step foot on that campus again.

One of the worst trips in conference.

Funny how people have different experiences. Went to an LSU night game there and had a real good time and we won 24-21 in the last 30 seconds. 2004 I believe. Had no problems at all. Had a great seafood dinner b4 the game and a real good breakfast the next morning. All while decked out in P&G. Auburn is the place I will never go back to. Been 3 times. 3 too many. Fans were jerks. Parking is a nightmare. Food options very limited. Visitor seating sucks. No thx

LSU fans are still trying to go see this team
play? In an away game?!! That sounds fricking miserable.

How has it been booked since last fall when they changed the weekend?

Everybody like to shite all over Gainesville, but I've lived here for two and half years now and, aside from the extreme liberalism, it's actually a really nice place to live. So I'll throw some suggestions out there for ya!
Restaurnats
1. For a great steak, check out Ember's. The head chef is from Nola and the food doesn't come out with the bland Florida taste everything else has.
2. Happy hour at Bahama Breeze is legit. Draft is cheap and all their appetizers are half off 4-6 daily.
3. Ballyhoo is good for seafood.
4. If you want a unique experience, Nine Spices does a Chinese hot pot where you season your broth and cook your own meat and it's all you can eat.
5. Maple Street Biscuit Company is not bad for breakfast.
Downtown
The Downtown area is pretty small, but there's some good stuff to do.
1. Havana is a cigar bar with some great cocktails, wine on tap, and a solid selection of beer. Highly recommend.
2. Big Lou's has really good pizza, and so does V Pizza under the Hampton Inn.
3. Loosey's Bar is a really good time. Huge draft beer selection and decent bar food too.
4. Dragonfly Sushi is really good and has a cool vibe to it.
5. Depending on what kind of night you want, White Buffalo gets crowded and has an undergrad crowd.
6. DO NOT, and I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT eat at Harry's. Even though it says Louisiana style cuisine, it is not very good and you'll get sick. 0/10
Midtown
Midtown is across from the campus and is where most of the undergrads hang out. The Social is a good time, but I can't speak for anything else. I don't hang out there much.
Enjoy your time! And if you see a couple drunk assholes outside of Havana wearing LSU stuff Friday night, stop and say hello.
