I was told that he did not want to put in the effort to be a great QB and was relying on his physical skills alone.
I heard exactly the opposite! Supposedly he is a gym rat, dedicated and soaks up coaching like a sponge!

I will take a smart, engaged, above avg athlete over and super talented, un willing and un intelligent player anyday.
That is exactly how I have heard Scott described!
My understanding is he is an excellent student and a great kid and leader!
I don't know who you know, but it is obviously not the same people I know.

Brandon Harris mentally vs Scott mentally isn't even close. Scott Scott's off the field preparedness shouldn't be compared to Harris nor his football smarts. Scott will make you forget Harris even existed.

Because his people obviously ride the short bus unlike yours.

Scott is a great football player - and has legitimate skills as a QB - no doubt. I'm concerned about his size and the translation of his game to the faster speed of college defenses, but right now - we're still talking about undemonstrated potential at this level. I suspect Harris' move was as motivated by the desire for a fresh start, than it was any feeling of pressure from underclassmen.
I mean, he's already lost the job - that's a difficult recovery for any QB.

Can't be no worse than etling
which means he CAN be worse than Etling. Etling is not that bad on long throws.

But 50 yards through air (with all arm) is a lot of strength. LINK
After watching his film, had he been listed at 6'1" instead of 5'11', he would have been a 4 star. Had he had been listed as 6'2" or above, he would been listed as a 5 star.
In any event, it didn't look like his vision was obscured in any kind way. Instead, it looked to me like he had the best vision on the field. That guy looks like he could be the next Russel Wilson.

Would we take another Herb Tyler?
I would
In an interview about a month ago, Tyler said that Danny Etling is pretty good, and that we would do okay with him starting next year, but then he said LSU should always play the best players and he said that Scott was by far the best play and should get the start.

Last year in the underclassman scrimmage during the open date, I heard Scott literally tore it up.

You know the QB that scared the hell out of me. Patrick Mahomes, and from what I have heard and seen of his highlight videos, that is what you have there.
What I'm thinking is going to happen is great competition from all, but DE, Scott and JM providing a Great product with the other 2 taking RS this year so we have talent for the foreseeable future. I doubt it plays out that way, but one can hope.
I heard that Scott did a great job of playing Lamar Jackson, and was pretty effective as well in that role.
What more could you want.

The post you replied to was referring to Harris being unwilling to put in the effort. It was not referring to Scott.
