Yeah, maybe if we convert a 3rd down and score, we put the game out of reach. GTFOHWTBS

We did score about 5 plays and 40 seconds later, but the game wasn't out of reach. So I don't get your point.

Yeah, we scored a FG, and lost.

So what would have been different if Quinn caught the ball? We couldn't score a td with first and goal from the 5 yard line, what would we have done with first down at midfield?

It absolutely has nothing to do with him being white. At least for me. It has everything to do though with me seeing nearly every high school game he's played and have seen him doing tremendous things along the way while breaking a national receiving record. I may be wrong, but it seems like someone with those abilities would be able to contribute more at the college level. I'd say the same thing for a black athlete that I had the same perspective on.

We could discuss hypotheticals for days, but catching that pass would have changed the whole dynamic of the game and Alabama's use of timeouts. Regulation probably ends on an LSU field goal attempt or Alabama taking a knee (as opposed to coming into OT with the momentum of once again owning Chavis).

Having it 1st and goal from the 6 was awesome, but having it 2nd and goal from the 21 with Alabama having 3 timeouts definitely was not.

Delta Doc....Disagree...LSU needs "Bigger" WR's to match up vs Bama DB's?? Did you NOT watch this season's National Championship GAME??

It was 5'10" 175lb walk-on Hunter Renfrow that burned 5-Star Minkah Fitzpatrick & others for 2 TD's in Nation Championship Game...Quinn is better than Renfrow dude.

Quinn could have been catching passes from Deshun Watson(Clemson)...and would have been used more effectively..

But his Love for the state of Louisiana & LSU was too much!

According to who? We can't compare high school stats bc Renfrow was a Qb. Renfrow was able to beat press twice out the slot. That is Quinn's biggest problem inability to beat press coverage. Fitzpatrick thought he was gonna punk Renfrow on that wheel route and he beat the press.

This has been mentioned ad nauseum over the last year and a half

Well, I think anytime you get a supposed top 100 recruit, you'd like to think he should have been successful. I obviously know there are busts, but still.

Well, to be fair. As mentioned above, busts DO happen and the reality is, we've seen nothing on the field for 2 years that should warrant all the attention Quinn gets.

Sure. As I mentioned, a top recruit will get the attention.....so it's obviously not ALL about him being white.

But, let's be honest here. A 22 catch guy transferring and then getting a 17 page thread is not exactly normal.

What a waste to be here when our passing game was so pitiful. He'll do well with a staff that understands the 'attack' part of passing attack. Good luck young man

I'll still have to see where he officially ends up, but I know he won't make the same mistake twice and pick a pass handicap school. Props to him for wanting to stay in state, but man did he drop the ball (no pun intended) on picking LSU over Clemson, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, SMU, etc.

When he becomes eligible and starts right away, I have no doubt he will start asap, I'd be very surprised if he didn't finish his college career with two 1,000+ yard seasons.

I'll wait to see what happens to him in the future. LSU has only really utilized two WR's in the past few years, he has talent but wasn't going to be 1 or 2 here.

what's with the racial nonsense? Nobody cares about a player's skin color. This ain't the 60's anymore. It's 2016 - move along please.

Start a thread comparing Lee to Jefferson. Or start an interracial dating/relationship thread on the OT or TV board.

Or look at how many pages this bust (or Rettig...or Rivers...) has compared to, well, any black player transferring.

I'm pretty sure that record book isn't up to date. Or something is weird with the site in that his stats don't count for some reason.

From LSUSports.net

quote:
Stands as the national all-time career leader in receiving yards with 6,566 in four seasons at Barbe … Holds the Louisiana state record for career receptions (357) and receiving yards (6,566)

quote:
Recorded 1,967 receiving yards and 23 receiving touchdowns in his senior season, surpassing Missouri’s Dorial Green-Beckham for the national career receiving yards record … A 2014 U.S. Army All-American selection … Selected as a Class 5A First-Team All-State selection three times in his career (sophomore, junior, senior) … Earned MaxPreps First-Team All-America honors … Tallied 115 catches for 2,141 yards and 26 TDs as a junior and 67 catches for 1,220 yards and 12 TDs as a sophomore … Caught 67 passes for 1,238 yards and nine TDs as a freshman

1238+1220+2141+1967= 6566 > 6356(DGB)

His 2141 yard junior year should also put him 5th all time for a single season, but it is not listed.

Plenty of Records Not Listed In NFHS Book
The mistake is due to the LHSAA not having their own official record book.

So I'm going to go with he does have the career reception yardage record.

Granted, count me as one of those that thinks we will not miss him much offensively or on special teams.
All of this, and I'm pretty sure he was less than 5 TDs away from that National Record as well.

Bama 1 legit drop, 1 questionable

bullshite. Both hit him in the hands and were easily catchable.
He's right, you're wrong. The second would have been a fantastic catch had he made it.

Are you going to analyse his numerous other drops in games leading up to that game?

2 monumental drops. A drop in te 1st quarter os no where near as bad as a drop to seal victory.
It's amazing how much love and how many posters on here defend TQ and yet they shite on other players.
Oh so now you want to elaborate....it was said he dropped a few. 2 is not a few. A few is 3 or more. And it's true, more than one poster on here has said that one was a terrible drop and the other was questionable. Selective memory serves you wrong.
