I would leave if I were a WR at LSU
Honestly, the Offense is USUALLY not WR friendly
Truth.

No I'm actually just a friend haha. I'm good friends with DeSean as well.

Me too, he was horribly under utilized IMO. It never ceases to amaze me how we get these talented receivers year after year to come to LSU knowing we haven't passed the ball well, year after year. Tells me we have guys like Trey Quinn they have a want and a love for LSU. Hate it didn't work out for Trey, I thought this might be his breakout year. Wish him well and just glad he can't burn us by going to another SEC team. Good luck TIGER.

Ok, its the rant so i will explain my previous statement.
Yes LSU can and does put very good WR's in the NFL. However, LSU's offense usually does not lend itself to big receiving numbers. Its usually a power run offense.
Im sure even the rant gets this.

Quinn much like Russel Shepherd- we never developed a way to work them into the offense.
I feel like neither had a chance to demonstrate their skills

Odell didn't get benched for 2 years after he dropped as much as he caught.
Odell was a lot better

he whole argument about his drops vs 1 Bama game is stupid.. it is relatively insignificant and a small sample size to judge a player.
I only mention that one game because it sticks out in my mind. The guy had a lot of drops in '14 (especially on 3Rd downs) which led to him, as you mentioned, being relegated to blocking duties.
Let's not make any mistake, QB play was bad in '14 and it was pedestrian this season. And the play calling was worse. But, as I said, part of the distrust of Quinn's abilities were of his own doing.
Will he benefit from a scheme that slings it 60 times a game? Sure. But he also would have worked back into the rotation early and often this season because he's good.
For whatever reason, he feels like he needs to move on. And we all wish him the best.
But as much as he is a "scapegoat" he's also a guy who didn't live up to the hype early and got overlooked early. Sucks, but that's football.

a family friend told me hes going to Houston. apparently hes formed a close friendship with Kyle Allen and Herman.
I hope that is not the case. Quinn has to sit out next year and then Herman will most likely be gone. No telling what kind of program Houston will have under a new coach.

Damn shame They couldn't find a way to use this kid.

Good luck to Trey. Houston sounds like a great landing spot for him

Shame to lose a local kid with love for the Tigers. He will be far better off elsewhere though.

Major Applewhite is a lock to get that job after Herman moves on. He'll keep the momentum going.
