Because he never really lived up to any hype. He was a Louisiana kid. Supposed to be the next big thing then he quit LSU and ran. It would have been easy for Malachi Dupre to do the same but he stuck it out.

That's on Cam Cameron & Les for putting true freshman Quinn in that position on multiple 3rd downs instead of Diarse or Dural.
For example, many posters jump to Lee's defense and solely fault Miles for throwing Lee into the fire too early. It's even more odd that they say it about Lee in his redshirt freshman year but never say it about Jefferson who played the same year as a true freshman.
What do Lee and Quinn have in common that makes some LSU fans treat Lee and Quinn differently from other LSU players. One is from Texas; one is from Louisiana. One is a QB; one is a receiver.
What is the particular quality that Lee and Quinn possess that causes some fans to jump to their defense and make them think Lee and Quinn needed to be protected?
