Cliffs:
Wouldn't trade his time in BR for the world.
Decided to come back after some dialogue with some behind the scenes staff that talked up Jay. Got a call from Jay while in a machine working for his Dad. Easy decision to keep playing baseball.
Weird transition from Paul to Jay, simply getting to know the staff.
Jay is a great dude and gonna win a lot of championships.
Kelly is an unbelievable guy. Works with the whole team on leadership.
Nobody on the pitching staff had a role to start with. Trent had to talk to the young kids about not worrying about being a starter.
Pitching in postseason is electric. He thought about playing for every Tiger every time he went out.
TN is a great program. Vitello flipped it around. Fans are tough there. He made it personal against them this year. Ride or die.
Jay showed the players weekly where they stood in RPI and standings. They didn't worry much about it late bc they knew they'd get in.
Lettered 2 years in football, got some small school offers, talked to some big ones. Sat out football his senior season. Missed it.
Knows his career may be over but still dreams about continuing. Would love to coach at LSU if the opportunity ever came up.

Dude is my favorite player. Not sure why but I always like the guy. Met him at fan day in 20 before the world stopped and he talked with my kids while signing the poster. And it was just normal convo. Acted like he really enjoyed just interacting and not having to be there.

This doesn’t surprise me. There are just some people that, whether you’re in the stands or watching on TV, they just give off a genuine vibe. Trent gives off that appearance.
I wish him well, and heck yea, would be great to have him be a part of LSU going forward.
