I heard that Saban didn't want that play (Maze) and was telling the people upstairs NO, get that out of there! Don't know if true. Just what I heard.

I do not believe this for one second. Saban is an absolute control freak. You do not call that play without the OK from Saban, IMO.

Trent Richardson 98 yards.. 2nd to last last drive... game on the line (Posted on 11/7/11 at 9:34 p.m.) finshes with 89!!!

I think some of his own teammates were afraid to look at him after that

I think Trent actually played ok. He was not the only "full grown man" on the field Saturday night. He's used to being able to have his way and there were guys on defense just a physical as him

He still accounted for over 160 yds of offense, he did just fine. I don't think some folks realize how hard hitting that game was, but he earned his ydg and still came out looking very good.

Today, the media as acting like his performance was sub par, but hell, 160 yds against one of the best defenses in the nation isn't sub par at all.

when Maze threw the pick Trent should have either won or lost the game for us on that drive. He's the best we got and shoulda had the game in his hands. May have lost 10 yards on the next two plays but we should have run him either way

hindsight is 20/20 but i agree with you 100%. TR was your best bet to win that game and i think saban blew it. imo, TR should win the heisman hands down. all of these flag football system qbs can't hold a candle to him.

it seemed like both running games wore themselves down this game against the other defense. The OLs for both teams were just constantly getting abused by the opposing DLs, which is why there were so many tackles for loss late in the game by both teams. I mean those two tackles for loss on Richardson looked too easy,

Interesting thought. Makes sense.

ETA: it did look like a jailbreak with all the Tigers in the backfield.....Beautiful!

The play was poorly designed

The play was actually very well designed except for one thing.

If you watch the play progress, the TE was originally open and would have still been open for the TD if it wasn't for one of the receivers on the other side not run a route that rubbed his man (Reid) off on the TE. If the route was say, an out route, Reid would not have been in a position to make that play.

Had this route not occurred, it wouldn't have mattered who was rushing the passer.

Yeah, Miles never has "ok" over a play call?

He definitely looked like he was gutting it out.

I noticed T-Bob getting his arse handed to him s few times. I was screaming to get him out...

I respect T-Bob for his effort and his team atitude, but he was getting pushed around against y'all.

Luck ended up with 200 yds passing and Richardson ended up with 160 yds rushing/passing yet I heard some of the talking heads saying Luck distanced himself in the vote. Probably because Stanford won. This if anything symbolizes how shitty and worthless the Heisman trophy really is.

You gripe about a control freak and can't see LSU has one.

Yeah I would hate for an LSU player to win the Heisman because of how shitty and worthless it is...

I didn't gripe and never made any assessment of Miles......I stated my opinion that the Bama OC would not dial that up without the OK from Saban.

This has NOTHING TO DO with Miles' relative control of playcalling. If you want to discuss that, I suggest another thread.

YOU frickING SUCK AT THIS...

It isn't awarded to the best player in football. Its a PR award influenced by AD's and Heisman campaigns, and most importantly the W/L record. I could give a shite if an LSU player ever wins it, since it's a team sport.

I understood your last comment, it was just a little sarcasm. You dont have an issue with the trophy, just how the winner is chosen by the voters. I agree, most Heisman winners aren't actually the "best" players the year they win it. Sometimes it is. Last year the voters got it right though IMO.
