It was an ESPN reporter that stated the rumor was on the net.

Hope it's not true, but not every single move in sports is not about money or moving "UP". In Trent's mind, "up" might be going to his old school from the area of the country where he wants to be.

Form a professional point of view, it seems to be a "NO WAY" deal.
The personal side though is what might really matter.

Is he married? where's his wife from? What about parents health? etc Lot's of personal factors.

Thanks, that at least gives the rumor a little validity. Regardless of the personal ties, I just don't see it happening.

Does Boise St. basketball have to play on a crappy, Smurf-blue basketball court? That might be a deal breaker.....

Lafayette Sports radio (obviously not the most reliable source).

Same station reporting about TT coach Leach in BR interviewing. Turned out it was Buddy Leach who was in town but not for an interview. They are not the most reliable source for information. Based on TJ's coaching record, he generally stays at least 4 or 5 years at a school.

With the 6 new players coming in next year I would think he would stick in BR for at least one more year to see what he had.

Yes. We also have street lights, although people run through them all the time.

okay ur right, wtf, unlike 99% of the posters here i wouldn't post it unless i knew it, fyi oregon also was in the mix. I do not think anything will come of it but there was a discussion. Can't imagine he would leave this powerhouse he is building.

he has great people coming in. Seems unlikely.

At least... I hope he does not do a Kiffin and recruit the next class away from LSU.

Andy Katz is a reliable reporter and tweeted this on Thursday or Friday as a rumor. I doubt Trent bolts to Boise, because they have worse support than we do for basketball.

Coach TJ is not going anywhere. He has found himself at the right job at the right time. LSU has the resources to support basketball the way TJ wants it supported. While the SEC may not be the best basketball conference in the country, it produces high quality play, enough to give his team a chance to get to the final four. Once TJ locks down recruiting in Louisiana, and he most definitely will, he will have a full deck to coach and manage, not only a team, but a program.

Coach TJ is going to make LSU a perennial power player in basketball, book it.

I believe they will, but it will be a slow process. While Louisiana high schools obviously play basketball and produce some talent, I don't think the sports world has ever considered Louisiana a hotbed for basketball talent. Over the next few years, I believe Coach TJ will begin to influence the popularity of Louisiana basketball, particularly as he builds his program at LSU. The man reeks of integrity, speaks well, and will manage a clean, disciplined program.

A bidding war for TJ?

If Alleva is allowed to BID, for a MBB HC that makes more money than an accomplishe FB HC at Boise St., Alleva better start packing.

What worries ME, is that our "glorious contract makers," will have ZERO PROVISION for TJ breaking his contract. On the other hand, and with our FB HC, the coaches have ALL THE ADVANTAGES.

I am not worrying about TJ leaving LSU. I am worried about LSU, increasing his salary. He does not deserve it.

Getting down to the nitty gritty, there was a local AAU guy who wanted Butch Pierre, to get the HC job. I think this "guy," is not in-with-TJ.

I think TJ has seen the local slime, up close. He may not want to deal with all of that crap. THAT....I believe would add LEGS to the rumor.

Out-bid Boise? LOLOLOL

Most fans just don't care as much about basketball as you do. Hell, you indicated it was more important than LSU football. You need to come to terms with the fact that most fans just dont agree.
