I explained my username lol.

LSU students are McManiacs. It’s a joke that me and my friends made that were in the McManiacs Insane Asylum suffering with the state of LSU basketball.

Like it or not, it shows what sport I care the most about.

All good. We need more.

I will take all LSU Basketball fans. You and your friends need to hit up on some of the legacy fans here. It's worth it.

It’s depressing seeing the student section empty at the games. They give out free shirts to encourage student attendance but the students just get the shirt and leave. The student section was bare bones today against Bama but the few of us that were there were loud.

Not sure if it could be heard on TV but we were chanting Derek Fountains name the whole game.

I'm twice your age I think, but good on you. Seriously, I was lucky enough to see CJ and Shaq while I was at LSU. I got to watch 2 Final Fours and an Elite Eight in my younger years.

LSU Basketball needs to be on the map and fans.

That’s how I feel about Tari Eason. (Even though ik it doesn’t compare to Shaq and CJ)

I had the ability to tell Tari he was the best player on the team in person early on in the season before he started going off in conference play.

Later that day, I went out of my way to tell WW’s GM that Tari was the best player on the team and he laughed in my face. At the time, he wasn’t anything more than another rotation player. Served him right once he started playing great later that season.

That's awesome.

We need LSU basketball fans like you. I was on the train for the 81/86/87 Dale teams when I was younger.

I could talk Tari, WW, Dale, all of it forever.

Tari is one of the best players in LSU history statistically speaking. He only played 24mpg but holds all box +- records, usage rate %, and PER.

Dude was special. Shame X got hurt and derailed our season.

And look at Tari prior to LSU. I feel like I have a big post soon, but I’m not sure I have it in me.

The state of LSU Basketball. Probably too much for 1:35am.

I said before, you're going to find some serious LSU Basketball fans here, as few as we are. It's not easy to express our frustration - for me at least.

I’m fine with people not caring tbh.
What I’m not fine with is people who don’t care or watch chiming in like their opinion matters.

Can’t tell you how many students I’ve heard call our team shite but can’t name two players. It honestly pisses me off

Easily my #1 issue.

We have 80 yos that can't name a player outside of Pistol Pete.

LSU Basketball fans are the worst. Just take that as truth.

Woodward likes “big names”, right? Well, there is a big name available right now that wasn’t available last March. Chris Beard.

Yes, there is some big time baggage with him right now. But it’s not NCAA baggage. It’s personal issues that will likely be resolved without any criminal consequences. Hiring him would bring an initial wave of “outrage” from the usual virtue signalers (ie, the media). But it would also bring a top 5 coach to LSU and the REALISTIC hope of championships in 2-3 years. It would be a very bold hire. It’s would also have significant benefits.

Of course, you’ll have some respond here and say “you can’t fire McMahon after one season!”. My response is “why not”?

Switch sports. Let’s say in an alternate universe LSU hires Billy Napier last year and in his first season at LSU he goes 4-8 (1-7 in the SEC) with an average margin of defeat of 24 points. Not only is he losing. He’s not even competitive. Let’s also say Brian Kelly becomes available during that horrible season and would be interested in the LSU job..

Would fans say “you can’t fire Billy after just one season! Look at the state of the program when he got the job?”. Hell no!!! You would have constant screaming and yelling to dump Napier and go get the proven HC in Kelly.

That is the EXACT situation LSU finds themselves in now in basketball.

The media ridiculed the hiring of Orgeron. They stopped in 2019. The media blasted Kelly for leaving ND and coming to LSU. I haven’t seen any of those stories lately, have you?
Point being, stop giving a shite what the media will think about hires. They are drive-by virtue signalers who will quickly move on.

Kelvin Sampson put two major programs on probation (Indiana and Oklahoma) and had a show cause. Do you think any Houston fans give a shite when they are annually competing for Final Fours?

Kansas is still under IARP investigation (like LSU). They gave Self a “lifetime contract”. He gave them a national championship.

Sean Miller was on a wiretap just like Wade. That didn’t stop Xavier from hiring him even though the threat of sanctions was possible. Xavier has its best team in 6 years this season.

Save all your moral bullshite for your high horse and Facebook page. Al Davis was right 40 years ago, and he’s right today. “Just win baby” Despite what virtue signaling fans may say, that’s really the ONLY thing they care about

It was the Girlfriend who let it out and that was the last dagger.

That won't be enough to get him a show clause.

He'll get hired by a small school with nothing to lose in a couple of years.

I know that. It’s just a rebuttal for the eventual posts in 3-4 years after this waste of time era is confirmed crying “It’s LSU basketball. We can’t get a big name coach.” Well, you may NEVER have a better opportunity to do just that right now.
