Cincinnati's media guide claims that 14 of 33 players who have completed their eligibility under Huggins also have earned their degrees.

here's another source with different numbers:

no matter which is correct the Cincy grad rate sucked:

quote:

Then again, those numbers were compiled long before West Virginia Coach Bob Huggins arrived on campus in 2007, but his previous track record in 16 years at Cincinnati surely does not bode well for the Mountaineers' future graduation numbers. A total of 27 of the 95 players in his Cincinnati program -- 28 percent -- graduated from the school, and in four different seasons, the graduation rate was zero percent.

another great recomendation for Huggs:
quote:

When the university bought out his contract in August 2005, university president Nancy Zimpher cited Huggins's "lack of character" among the reasons for its decision to let him go, and the school also indicated that 21 players over his tenure had "significant encounters with law enforcement," another factor in his dismissal.

more number:
quote:

Among the dozen schools cited in Lapchick's report as being under 40 percent were Maryland, Kentucky and Tennessee. All four teams in the Final Four were above that 40 percent graduation benchmark -- Duke at 92 percent, Butler 90 percent Michigan State 58 percent and West Virginia 44 percent.

Why is Huggins or any coach responsible for the 58% who did not graduate.

About 50% of most entering freshman don't graduate. Who is responsible for that segment of the student body?

if he is calling out a coach, it is not a single coach in the Final Four. Its callipari. He will lose every single starter, probably six man.... will be back again next year with more paid players that stay 1 year. IMO

Trent Johnson for president!

ol' TJ may better 'shore up' his own house of glass before he starts throwing stones at Huggy Bear

ol' Arkansas' basketball program may better 'shore up' before they start throwing stones at LSU basketball. Last time I checked LSU has recently won two SEC regular season titles and advanced to the Final Four. When is the last time Ark has done anything relevant in basketball?

I like huggy. He brought back K state in one year from 50 years of nothing, and did the same at WV. Trent is jealous about his recruiting.

I don't think I would be doing that with the record LSU is sporting from this season. Especially if he plans on using the same offense next year.

I was mainly talking about LSU. He just finished his second year and Brady left him with no talent to work with. He's bringing in a pretty good freshman class next year.

watched Barry Booker on SEC weekly last night.....his 2010-2011 SEC basketball preview stated:

"LSU will finish last in the west again, talent level is severely depleted, even with a "good" signing class coming in"

LSU's current class is ranked #12 according to ESPN and that doesn't even take the addition of Malcolm White into consideration. It's really impressive if you consider the lack of talent in Louisiana the last couple of years. WVU isn't in the top 25. Last year LSU's team was incredibly senior laden which also isn't Trent's fault. I'd give him another two years before making real harsh judgments.
